CSS will always be best CS in terms of physics interactions, But the Con of it was Playerbase didn't like the Over the top Physics which was too detailed but same time bad for visibility and competitive integrity. Thats why CSS was least popular than 1.6 and CSGO.....So valve was trying to follow 1.6 and CSGO rather than CSS.....CSS will be always be coolest CS to look at but worst in terms of competitive gameplay. It's just bittersweet

Most of the playerbase stayed on 1.6 because it was easier to run than the Source engine. Most people played public servers and didn't give a shit about competitive. CSS was more popular than 1.6 in terms of overall players when CSGO was released (Richard Lewis confirms this).

A very nice thing that Valve could do to please *EVERY* player is to add something like two game modes. One would contain all the maps made to be "competetive" and the other containing the same maps but with physics and more details.

The actual Problem ppl had with CSS, was the Recoil of the weapons. It felt too easy to hit someone and HS tap. Also the Barrels that interrupted your movements. Ppl never had a problem with the ragdolls or details in it. Maybe it's hard for computers to perform well with CS 2 graphics containing all these details aswell.

Modern day Valve since the release of CS:GO have become greedy bastards who won't do anything for the community if it's not going to make them big profits. With a tiny exception being Half-Life Alyx... Very similar to Rockstar who after the boom that GTA Online made in 2015 stopped caring about their community and kept and kept milking GTA Online to this very day. A rare exception being releasing Red Dead Redemption 2.

Some stuff would be cool in CS2. Like the fire extinguisher would be cool so map makers could strategically place them for use in competitive play. More water physics/interactions would also be cool without disturbing the competitiveness. And a bit more interactive things, like, I understand that you can't move chairs and bigger objects anymore, but shooting down paintings or having the bomb explosion actually explode something would be nice. Bring more life to the game, but without ruining the fps and competitiveness ofc, but I think it's doable with source 2.

It would be really interesting to see some aspects of CS: Source in CS2. I don't think it would be difficult for map developers to add features to the game, such as sirens in Nuke. I've noticed that the developers pay great attention to detail and try to implement interesting features, but sometimes they prioritize esports over player feedback.

This is a good demonstration of the tradeoff games (not just CS) have seen in the last decade or two where, because so much time and effort has to go into making environments so detailed and ornate, not as much effort ends up going into extra interactive features/touches. Generating and detailing environments was obviously less hassle and probably a lot more fun back in the 90's and early 2000's, which allowed for more creativity and less burnout, allowing for such features, because it was literally just a matter of "eh, why not, won't take long". Nowadays, of course, generating game environments probably comes across as a daunting task fueled by high expectations, higher ups breathing down the developer's necks, and tight deadlines. As a result, no one has the time, energy, or interest in adding those sorts of features anymore.

It is all well and good if a rogue barrel is all it takes to block off a sight line or a nade throw in some chaotic casual game, but this is an eSport. Sports and messy inconsistent variables don't gel well together.

@@lorddemon7336 Это непредусмотренная вещь, свет который они якобы излучают остается на своём месте. Просто сам автомат, как проп, это prop_physic, физический подвижный пропы. Есть и статичные prop_static, просто физические нельзя разместить в ксго как статический, их размешают как физический и отключают их физику. Тут либо физику забыли отключить, либо в кс2 ещё не сделали то чтобы физические пропы могли быть с отключенной физикой при импорте карты из ксго
