Game sense is something that comes with experience, you can’t practice game sense to make it better, it’s either natural, or it comes with experience of different maps and the game in general. Aim is easy to master if you practice properly. If you don’t practice aim properly, it is hard to get good at it as well. Cs is just too complicated man.

I'd say for starters the aim is far more important, because this game is about shooting, you need to know how to kill, otherwise everything else is useless, but in a higher lvl game sense is more important, because if you have some basic lvl of aim skills, just having a great game sense can make you a lot better. Look at xyp9x for example, he isn't the best aimer up there, but just with his great game sense and wits he manages to take so many rounds and contribute a lot.

guys when I said that xyp9x isnt the best aimer i didnt mean he is bad, of course he is very decent, but aim isnt what makes him special unlike someone like Niko for example. Xyp9x takes so many clutches and important rounds because of his insane game sense and in game iq, that was just an example of how important is game sense in the highest lvl, while in low lvls you can just run and kill everyone with insane aim, and that can be enough.

@@jonasba2764 nah, it's you who don't understand high level/pro games. a "good" aim is already assumed and expected, much more in pro (even in amateur and semi pro). even random lvl 10s can out aim or kill pros in random duels sometimes in pugs. but a pro level game sense can win games, regardless of who's the better aimer. either you're new to CS, or you don't have enough experience/observation/analysis/etc in high level competition. pros don't reach their level without mastering basic game mechanics. this video is about the pro scene mindset obviously, not about comparison to average players.

@@zxczzzxx It's been a while since I said this and my thoughts on the concept of "aim" has changed. I think what people call aim and what aim really is, are two different things. The aim people usually talk about in game is only a small part raw aim and mostly learned game mechanics. Crosshair placement, the knowledge of player movement, and other aspects are parts of what people call aim but not aim itself. Real aim is the raw mouse control you have acquired. This mouse control doesn't change much from game to game but your "aim" does. Suddenly you switch games and you don't know where to put your crosshair or aren't used to the game mobility. Then you think you have bad aim. Your aim isn't the problem, the foundation that let's your aim shine has been stripped from you. What I'm trying to say is mouse control is the real raw aim and things like crosshair placement added onto mouse control is what we regularly call aim. Having only good raw aim will not help you in CS:GO without proper map knowledge, player movement speed knowledge, and crosshair placement. It's like being a really athletic dude and expecting yourself to know how to box. You have the potential for it but you lack the primary foundation to do well. Xantares does have good aim in game but that doesn't necessarily mean his raw aim(mouse control) is insane.

@@evm1052 You might be looking for the raw aim and passive aim distinction, the former means mechanical aim that is evident in any FPS game you play, whereas the latter is predominantly specific to a game; crosshair placement. Both fall under the "aim" category, though. If XANTARES had godly game sense, he'd be far more accomplished than he is now. Gamesense is different.

Aim is definitely more important in lower levels. But in higher levels, it gets harder to improve aim and there isn't too many noticeable differences between players. Also, this is when teams start working together to catch enemies off guard, or double peek for 2v1, etc. That's why the game sense and decision making, especially for these pros are much more important in their eyes, because for them, to play against other teams, you have to be aware of enemies pushing, enemy setups, double peeks, playing anti-flash, etc. In matchmaking levels, aim is definitely more important. Maybe somewhere around Faceit 9-10 is when it really starts to show who has good decision making and game sense.

I'd say they did. GuardiaN, coldzera and twist are, at least in my opinion, known for outaiming the opponent more often than outsmarting them. But as THREAT mentioned most of the top players have a fairly equal level of aim and it's their game sense that separates the good players from the really good players, which they are well aware of.

It's that, they are talking about pros, so every pro almost has quite a good aim. Not saying that every player is a godlike aimer like scream, but yeah, i can say everyone can get 6+/10 in aiming. So on that level, game sense makes a huge difference. But ofcourse in mm, you need a great aim. No matter how smart you are, if you suck at aiming and spraying, it'll cost you. So combination of both, best answer!

It's obviously a combination of both, but there are more things to CS than those 2, some of which were mentioned in the video: - communication - movement - decision making - being a teamplayer (dropping, supporting with nades) - theoretical knowledge (nades, nade time to impact, one ways, bomb radius, etc.)

I can drop 30 to 40 kills regularly, with just simple spray downs on LE to GE. You don't need a really good headshot ration or good first bullet accuracy at all on that level. Playing on level 10 faceit, you will lose some easy battles where you have great positioning, but average aim. Even in those high faceit games, you have people with bad aim and good game sens, but also the other way around. You can get far with both. Obviously you got to have above average on both still.

of course, improving first on the basic game mechanics (aim, movement, map knowledge/angles/positions/callouts/etc, comms, nades, positions, etc.) then the general game sense will naturally follow/develop as you get more experience in game, specially games where you face harder opponents/teams. playing with consistent team mates will also help a lot

I think the importance goes (from low level to pro level): aim gamesense aim I think aim is important at low levels for the basic point of the game to kill your opponent. In mid to higher tier ranks you need to be able to use positioning, timing, utility, teamwork, map knowledge and control etc at the very top they have both but you need really really good aim and I think if you have reactions and aim good enough you can beat someone with clever gamesense who outsmarted you.

If you can't aim for shit you are going to get steam rolled by your opponents every game, no matter how big your brain is. Pros will almost always say game sense, because everybody at that level can aim. Some pros have better aim than others, but it doesn't give them a significant advantage at that level. The first step to getting good at FPS games is aim training. Once you can hit shots you should put game sense as a higher priority, it's hard to un-learn aim training.
