I for one would _gladly_ trade a scale back in content for a complete remake. TF2 suffers from way more bloat anyway. It feels like it became a sort of dumping ground for new game ideas that couldn't get enough momentum to develop and release as standalone games, plus Valve's habit of adding every single community map that was ever popular. Sadly we now have conclusive confirmation that Valve isn't going to do that, because they now have a public beta of a 64-bit port. They've never done that with any other game, and obviously wouldn't be doing it now if there was a complete engine port in development (CSGO never got so much as a DXVK update like their other Source 1 games got).

I think the lines in the smoke are the invisible voxel elements that define the smoke effect propagation, so instead of calculating shadows based on the particles we see, it does it (in some cases) only for the voxels, leaving obvious lines everywhere

What is interesting is that Valve could have chosen to leave a whole bunch of CS:GO stuff in as a stopgap while they try to update everything. I believe them choosing not to was deliberate and one they didn’t consider lightly. Those two paths likely had an extensive lists of pros and cons. Ultimately, we’ll see if this was the right move as time passes.

It'll be very interesting to see what they end up doing with Danger Zone, now that the size limits have been thrown wide open. Personally, as much as I was just grateful to have a battle royale game that I could actually run on my potato of a PC when it first came out, I grew to appreciate the smaller, denser scale of it. Both because it kept it from turning into a game of "who can find a sniper and the best attachments for it first", and because it made everything feel more intentionally designed rather than the result of dropping a bunch of random prefab buildings onto a block of terrain. But then they got rid of singles mode and added _Sonic the Hedgehog_ bounce pads and shit in a desperate bid to salvage it when its popularity tanked, and it became a joke. I honestly wonder what the numbers were like by the end, and if Valve has any real incentive to bring it back at all, let alone revive it in a form that remotely resembles the original experience.

Woah! Shoots is a completely different style. Surprisingly was still able to identify it from my…apparently 60 hours in CS:GO, all spent with bots, mostly on Shoots playing Arms Race. Also, really am glad Baggage got a lot more movement. But also, yeah, those head height blockers do seem annoying for casual. As I did enjoy standing atop the luggage on one side and sniping bots at the other who took a bit too long too move…probably would be more fun with real players.

@@wm1573 Valve can definitely make CS2 run on his computer, it's just that a lot of graphic options (in console command) was set as "cheat" and can't be changed. One example, people discover that disabling water shader improve fps, but of course it can't be disable in a match. Other things like forcing dynamic shadows and forcing large texture that consume all VRAM on low-end pc. At the very least let him play Casual mode.

all good, but I'm still missing two features in CS2: 1. Set Sound INPUT Device! Every second or third time I play CS2, I have to quit the game, set my mic as the windows default input device and restart because some webcam or virtual input device forced themself as the default. It really is frustrating to only find out about this when you're already playing. "Shall I still finish the map with no comms? Or shall I quit right away never to see this lobby again?" 2. Death Replays A great feature for casual games to learn how your enemy outsmarted you and what kind of dumbness you should avoid. Many FPS players know this feature already - for instance from the Call of Duty series. But did you know that this feature was briefly part of the Counter-Strike franchise? Yeah, in CS:GO they had it in casual games! So, apparently it is (or was) technically feasible to implement. I would love to see this feature in CS2

Really like this update. One thing I hope for with the future of CS2 is a rework to the loadout system or just a removal entirely. I get what they were going for with it, but let's be honest, you NEVER see autosnipers anymore, you NEVER see the M249 (not that you did anyway) and you're basically never going to see the R8, MP7, MP5 or Bizon anymore. I really feel like Valve should've just let us have all guns available at all times, honestly. It also means I don't even really get to use the skins I paid money for anymore.

After the big update, my screen freezes, everytime I come across an enemy it’s jumps a frames, next thing you know I get killed. Framrate drops like crazy, gun viewmodel gets stuck and freezes, crouching makes my screen jump a few frames, changing weapons not as smooth. Lots of issues and I don’t know if I have to upgrade my graphics card or not. I also lowered the quality of video maybe it would help with fps but actually made it much worse. Not sure what to do now

I wish they left CSGO as it was for longer while they worked behind the scenes on CS2. Right now it's just another OW2 situation. Less content & removed the old one just for graphics' sake. Unlike OW1, CSGO wasn't expected to get META shifts or new gameplay either, so they had no excuse to not leave in it the oven for a long time.

- round length is 2 minutes - you get 30 seconds more after planting bomb (and a couple seconds post-explosion) - it takes 30 seconds to recharge Zeus What I'm saying is, a Zeus ace round is now technically possible. It's extremely unlikely as it requires a late bomb plant and the margin of error for each kill is very, very slim, but it is possible.

I think they really messed up with the stickers. They made every old sticker craft obsolete. Also, most pistols don't even have room for a 5th sticker with default placements.
