I looked into to stem cell tooth regeneration over 10 years ago, there was a scientist in the uk that was working on the method but didn’t get the funding, so went off to the states. I think the (sweet) food and drinks industry should be funding it.

Tooth repair is indeed posible, it would be good to see new advancements, speciallly at the molecular level of the dentine structure, we need enamel and dentina régénération as soon as possible to be medically available, and we also need dentistries to implement tooth régénération procédures instead or resin or tooth bonding with composites. The régénération of hidroxiapatite, is just very necessary new need tooth régénération not only for cavities but for accidental trauma with hard food rocks on food, suddenly appearing like with grains, etc!! Could you use a Crown-Like thin outer shell containing minerals so the dentine fills the inside of an artificial tooth casing (that moulds the inside dentine into a brand new tooth)?

The only way the research about this will go faster is if we as people go public about it, so we are speaking about it everywhere to get more attention to it. Otherwise it will take even more 20 years, or even longer if at all... I would really like tooth regeneration to happen right now if i could, no matter the price tag for new natural teeth. When i look at this type of videos i always think ''When will this happen?''... So many people are in pain in many different ways, that are dreaming of this to come a reality. I have a crown on one tooth and to be honest, it has been painful and have not felt normal at all since day one i had it. I had to put gum in my mouth to have something between the crown and my tongue because my tongue always feel sore. Always dealing with a headache as a result, it's been so bad that i have told myself if i'm going to miss more teeth now i'm not getting a crown, bridge or a implant because it's just painful. Even people i have been speaking with would rather save up money to get real set of teeth, then getting this fake crap. Been dreaming about having a natural feeling in my mouth again, now it feels always sore. Already have issues with two teeth, it makes me fear to have problems with even more teeth. I'm turning 26... I pray this becomes a reality soon, so we can have a normal smile again. Everyone deserve it.

Unfortunately not. It cannot regenerate nerves and blood vessels. It only regenerates dentin and nothing else. Once the cavity reaches to the pulp, tideglusib or "ReDent", cannot help. You 'll need a root canal treatment.

It's meant to replace composite and amalgam fillings, that aren't as durable as natural teeth, only last a few years, can lead to further cavities, may get darker with time, etc. It also integrate perfectly with enamel. And other studies are being conducted to repair enamel itself, both in China and UK.

The answer is yes. It can replace old fillings. But only the dentin part. The enamel has to be replaced with some other filling material. Maybe one day we'll be able to regenerate enamel as well and have a full repair.

Thank you for sharing this interesting topic. I have a question. What is the difference between repair and regeneration of dentine? I know they can be used interchangeably. However, i believe they didn't mean the same process. This is how I perceive it: Dentine regeneration is to stimulate the pulp to create odontoblast-like cells, which secrete tertiary dentin. However, dentine repair is the process of secreting dentine/collagen(?) from pre-existing cells. this is no ne cell formation. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.
