CSCA Review - Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis

I recently went through the CSCA program that the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) offers. I was very pleased with the content of the program and I feel like it has helped me to better understand the strategic management process. I'm confident it will help my company to avoid the trap so many companies fall into and that is failing to meet goals consistently because of failed strategic management processes.

FYI to anyone looking for CSCA study help, looks like HOCK (one of the major CMA and other certification study suppliers) now offers a CSCA study program. Its currently $199, so this price relative to other full service CMA program prices does indicate that the CSCA is not nearly as demanding. I've passed CMA Part 1, and plan on taking Part 2 in a couple months. If I pass, at a glance the CSCA seems like a decent value add for supplementing credentials

I just took my CSCA exam last week. A great learning series with great articles. Very foundational strategic concepts and how to stay competitive via the vision, mission, and measuring tools for performance. Exam is defintely not at the level of diffuculty of the CMA. Study time was learning series and some practice with the bank questions, I took my time, about 8 weeks from the time I paid for the learning series/required book/exam fee. Exam had some questions that were tricky vs diffucult, really testing the understanding with word play aswell.

Thanks for the information, I consider enrolling into the csca i have just finished my cma, do you think the IMA is enough for studying the certificate.. it kinda made me worried when you said the exam question was a little different from their learning series test bank. Let me first say I passed the CSCA using their learning series. The actual exam did seem a bit different than the test bank questions in my experience but I haven’t heard anyone else say that so I would not worry too much about it.
