You should be provided with an extra paper to do you rough work (workings). Tip: Consider doing your workings on your exam paper and cancel if you've found a better solution rather than using the rough work paper and not having enough time to transfer to your exam paper. Use caution with this method and remember to always cancel the incorrect solution.

why when are you multiplying you use the first digit to multiply first instead of the second digit? for example 17x17 u start multiplying with the digit one(1) instead of digit seven(7)?

Hi Leon. You can start with either numbers first but if you do start with the second number (1) then you need to put a place holder (0) under the first column. If you start with the first number (7) then your answer goes under the first column (no place holder). Hope that helps. ❤

The frequency is rounded to the nearest whole number (eg. 1) therefore, to get the upper and lower boundary you will subtract and add 0.5 from the upper and lower boundaries. That 0.5 comes from 1 (nearest whole number mentioned earlier) divided by 2 which gives (1/2 = 0.5). Similarly if our frequency was rounded to the nearest 1 dp then we would subtract and add 0.05 (0.1/2 = 0.05) from the upper and lower boundary... And if it was rounded to the nearest 2 dp or nearest cm, etc, etc... Hope that helps.

Best way to understand it is to draw a number line from -3 to 6 [-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5,6]. 'X' represents the values between -3 and 6. Hence, the values that are greater than -3 (eg. -2,-1...) and values less than 6 (eg. 5,4,3...). Since the question does not state greater or equal to -3 or less than or equal to 6 then the values should not include -3 and 6. A simple way to write this is -3

I think question 49 should be c x=2 and x= 4 because it is referring to the graph

It is referring to the graph. If you have a look at the graph at the points where y=0, those points will give you an x value of 0 and 4. This can either be solved by taking the information from the graph or solving it using algebra (in the video). Note: Where y=0 are the points where the graph cuts the x axis. Hope that helps.

Because we need to find the constant "k" in the formula y=kx. Making k the subject we will have y÷x =k. Simplifying that we have 19/152 which gives us 1/8. So k= 1/8. Rewriting our equation we have: y = 1/8 x (c). To prove your answer is correct you can substitute values for x (eg. 1, 2,3..) and the answer for y should keep increasing as the x values increase since it is directly proportional. Hope that helps.
