Miss G, I'm new here...thank you for helping...but there's one problem...I think question 59 should be D ..simply because the Caribbean has a large supply of raw materials so that wouldn't be a problem...as for the labour force...there's a lot of emigration so the unskilled workers are left in the Caribbean. ..this is a big problem

Hey, I am a fifth form student and that was my reasoning too before, I get your point, but in actuality the answer is the labour force. This is because while yes, much emigration occurs regarding our people, the vast number of individuals alone should imply that we have many people who are able and willing to work. There fore the labour force itself is not the problem. Now we look back to the reason behind emigration, which is the fact that most of our countries are not able to sufficiently sustain these vast numbers of people due to the lack of capital and the small size of our markets, as well as the quantity of our raw materials. Think about it; undoubtedly we have a lot of natural resources which can be used, but it is important to note that just because our resources are renewable, does not mean they are not LIMITED, especially in the individual Caribbean countries. If we were to exploit our raw materials at a rapid pace especially in commercial industry, we may just exceed the rate at which these materials are replenished. So if we were to tackle these mentioned problems, then we may be able to sustain the population efficiently and labour force would evidently not be a problem.
