About question 4 it doesn't make sense for "organisms to be less" to be included in the answer because as you go through each trophic level there are more and more organisms you can eat as a consumer. "respiration occurs" is definitely one because when we respire and the food oxidises, we get energy and we use some for daily activities, so the other animal that feeds on us gets less energy than what we obtained in the first place. "the organisms are more active" is also one, because we use energy to do work and throughout any animals day they have to do work hence, energy is being reduced/ lost leaving the other animal in the other trophic level with less energy than what we obtained from start. So the answer for number 4 is *(c)*

Thank you for your reasoning. This was one of those questions that had me second guessing myself. During the recording of this video I actually meant to choose C: II and III. Not sure why I circled B, so that was a mistake. Then I looked it over again and thought about the first option as being correct. Less organisms are found at each successive trophic level. Producers at the first trophic level are always the most numerous while top consumers are the least in numbers. Therefore due to lost of energy at each level (because of respiration, heat loss and excretion) and the fewer numbers, if you did a pyramid of energy, the top bar (highest trophic level) would be much less than the bottom bar (1st trophic level). So this made me think all three options were true. Then when I really considered the last option about the organisms being more active at each successive level, I thought about predator-prey relationships. Normally you would believe that the top consumers would be most active since they have to hunt and chase down their prey, but the prey would have to actively too move around and try to escape predation. So this option had me a bit uncertain. So that's why I ended up choosing A. That's my thought process behind this question.

Yes all three cells contain a cell wall, but CXC made a mistake by putting in the cellulose part. Bacteria and fungi do not have cellulose cell walls. Only plant cells. So that question is worded wrong.

Hey, honestly when I did this paper, question 4 had me really wondering which option was truly correct. I had made a correction in the description but the more I think about it, all three options seem possible. For question 2, only plant cells have cell walls made of cellulose. Bacteria's cell walls are made of peptidoglycan and fungi's cell walls are made of chitin. So, for that one I believe CXC made an error.

Av Boss I understand your thinking but boiling and chlorination are the best methods because filtering just gets rids of particles and chlorination gets rid of most pathogens by disinfection. But disinfection is not as effective as sterilization by heat. Sterilization gets rid of all pathogens while disinfection does not. So that's why including boiling would be the best way to purify the water.

Nitrogen fixing bacteria generally convert nitrogen gas in the air into ammonium but some nitrogen cycles show the conversion directly to nitrates in the soil. Nitrifying bacteria are known to convert ammonium into nitrites and then into nitrates. So honestly if you look at it either way the answer can be A or D.
