I found that I didn't have a Controller folder in my Solution Explorer so I tried to add it but it said the name conflicts with an existing item. So I checked in Windows Explorer and indeed the folder was there. I then reviewed the previous videos and found that when Venkat deleted the Weather Forecast files, the Controller folder also disappeared. However, in the next video that followed, the folder reappeared in his Solution Explorer. I decided to delete the folder from Windows Explorer and then re-add it in Solution Explorer.

I clicked on project in solution explorer. Then "Show All Files". Right click on Controllers folder and then "Include in Project". Worked for me.

I notice that the GetEmployees function returns a simple ActionResult whereas some of the other methods return a typed ActionResult. I would have expected ActionResult. Why does it work as expected with specifying the type of result please? Regards, Steve

Same in Firefox or chrome Edit: found it for others In vs Tools>options > projects and solutions > web projects Uncheck : Stop debugger when browser window is closed, close browser when debugging stops

I don't know where I missed it at, but when I run the app the EmployeeListBase.cs is still running the method "LoadEmployees()" this method over writes the data from the database?

I got confuse between api/employees and api/employee when I call the employee list with controller. Mine is ok with api/employee without 's' but I don't know why. Please! can somebody explain me?

Your controller class is probably named EmployeeController instead of EmployeesController.

Sorry i have an issue. when i try to test in chrome (localhost:44318/api/employees) there's no probs. But when i try in postman there's an error Could not get response. Plz help Thanks :)

and i'm fixed it by turning off 'SSL certificate verification' in Settings > General

Postman was giving me: Could not get response Error: unable to verify the first certificate. View in Console. So I clicked the Wrench Settings icon in the upper left corner and then selected Settings from the pop-up dialog. Then I was able to click SSL certificate verification to turn it off and close the dialog to successfully run the project.

I had to change the code "return Ok(employeeRepository.GetEmployees());" to "return Ok(employeeRepository.GetEmployees().Result);" otherwise I was getting an error.
