Hi Chaitanya, Yes that is right. Please right click on visual studio and select "Run as Administrator". This should run visual studio as administrator and you should be able to access local IIS web sites. Hope this helps.

Hi Raul, this should be very easy to fix. Here are the steps 1. Open IIS 2. Under connection expand root node 3. Select "Application Pools" 4. In the middle pane, select "DefaultAppPool" and on the right hand side pane, click "Advanced Settings" 5. In the "Advanced Settings" window, click on the ellipsis button and from built-in account, select "Local System" and click "OK" Please let me know, if this has helped. Good Luck.

For all people who have problem with "HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid." Excellent. I have a question. On the assumption one virtual directory in ISS corresponds to a Visual Studio project does that mean each project has it's own web.config that impacts the virtual directory? So for example one virtual directory could have different connection strings defined in a different web.config and maybe each virtual directory could have different authentication rules.

Hello. I don't have the ConfiguringIIS folder in my C drive. I don't see it anywhere. The closest thing I see is there is an IIS folder and also an IIS Express folder. Inside the IIS Express folder is a config folder that has a schema folder and a templates folder.

+Sunny Kathariya I had this problem as well. This error means that the root folder of the project don't have permission to write and read. To solve that, Right Click on the root folder and select the Properties option . Go to the Security tab. Then click the Edit button and just after click the Add button. In the Dialog Box which will appear, click the Advanced button and on the sequence click the Find Now button. Look for the user EVERYONE and select it. Click Ok button. Check if the following options are marked for this user: List Folder Contents, Read & Execute, Read , Write. If so, click OK and the problem is solved.

I had the same error like others and since when i did what you said with aspet_regiis -i and -ir, now it shows me other kind of error: Login failed for user 'IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool'. Apparently, VS (2017) not so great at supporting local IIS right out of the box. to resolve some problems take a look at your app pools aplications, if you made your app on netframe 4 or 4.5 you have to change in advance setting in the iis conf from 2 default to 4, and like in my case I had erased the dafault and made a copy of yor web aplication inside c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ now jus make a new site, change the port if you have more from 80 to 8080 or any else, and that it.
