It is so poignant now to see this episode following the news of the death of Evan Ellingson, who played Kyle Harmon. Ellingson was only 35 and reportedly had battled addiction for some time. In CSI Miami, Horatio feared for the life of his son Kyle, who was a US Army private deployed to a combat zone in Afghanistan. Now, unexpectedly, David Caruso has outlived Evan Ellingson. Thank you for sharing your talents, Evan. God rest your soul.

Kyle coming back from the military would be one of the best ways to give the series a proper closing if it hadn't been canceled. The other two ways would be with Eric and Calleigh reconciling their relationship and Ryan getting the girlfriend he always wanted.

Aug I say good by to my military cousin Jacob Harrison I done this since 2016 hurts like hell when he comes home for very short visit end of July when I have to say good by the same day I see him at my aunt house is going to be hell I cry every time he like my brother he completely me when he in Italy serve am numb broken depression anxiety panic attacks we don't have contact it sucks that I have to keep doing this every year it's killing me I sao broken 😭 but he followed in our Kate uncle foot step and our papa foot steps am proud of him for step up to protect our family but I worry it's hard being strong some days I just can't be strong I love my cousin but I can't wait to he gets out of the military so I can have him back but that day comes I just have to keep saying good by

There is a lot in this s. 8 episode "Dishonor." The episode opens with the gruesome death of a man in a tire doused with gasoline, which, naturally, Horatio is called upon to solve. The man turns out to be Rahim Farooq, whose daughter is the girlfriend of Kyle's army buddy Brian Nasser. Farooq's daughter Maya loves Brian, but she turns out to have been promised to another man in a forthcoming arranged marriage. The "arranged" groom recognizes Maya's reluctance and, to his credit, ends the arrangement. But an incensed Rahim accuses Maya of having brought dishonor upon their family. Rahim's rage terrifies Maya's mother Salumeh, who fears that Rahim will kill their daughter. The murder investigation reaches a wrenching conclusion that tears the Farooq family apart. Brian avoids a forthcoming deployment to Afghanistan in order to be with Maya, but Kyle is deployed, leading to one of the one of the most emotional farewell scenes between a father and a son in television history. Horatio shows real humanity here. This is one of the very best of the later CSI Miami episodes, but you'd better have the hankies handy when you see it!
