Two favorite moments: 1) "Out of Gas" where Mal is consoling Kaylee: "Sometimes a thing gets broke, it can't be fixed." Mal basically keeps her from giving up. *That* moment speaks volumes, every time. 2) End of Serenity, when Mal tells River what keeps a boat in the air: "Love. You can know all the math in the ‘Verse, but you take a boat in the air you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughtta fall down… tells ya she’s hurtin’ ‘fore she keens… makes her a home."

Both points absolutely legit. _Out Of Gas_ is a masterpiece. And that last bit of Serenity is so perfectly bittersweet.

I've been to NYCC for almost a decade, and that one was by far my top best and most memorable one. One of the main reason was because of Nathan Fillion. I was so glad I bought the extra day pass to meet him, it was worth it. On one of the days my best friend and I got autographs on very cool items (he got his on a replica of Mal's pistol, and I got mine on the 2nd DVD of the Big Bang Theory, the one where he appears in the diner as himself, pretending not to be himself). I cosplayed as an ODST from HALO, which was also his character in the games. He shook our hands and said a few words, we were so happy he was such a nice guy in real life (I was a little heart broken in the previous NYCC when I waited hours for Patrick Stewart's autograph and he wouldn't give a hand shake...). Then the next day, we waited in line for the picture taking, and when it was our turn, Nathan shook our hands again, he recognized us and said hey you were the guys from yesterday! I was so happy he remembered us from the thousands of fans he saw. Then he posed the Charlie's Angel pose with us and he held my replica HALO Assault Rifle in the center of the photo shoot and played with it until the photo staff pushed us away ^_^ It was so cool, and he gave a 3rd hand shake! It's little things like that, that makes our days at comic-cons. Simple hand shakes, and you'll have made the fan's day/years to come. Being able to brag "I met him, he chatted with me, signed an autograph and shook my hand". Thanks Nathan!!

+Aaron Sagers I was fortunate enough to attend. What a terrific panel! I think everybody in the room was smiling from ear to ear for the whole hour. "Everybody else" and "Just because your network tells you no one's watching, doesn't mean they're right" drew the cheering and the clapping and the ovation-ing (not a word). Nice job moderating--bask in the glow of that hour for as long as possible. :)

Watching “Serenity” with the cast would be like a dream come true. I could die completely fulfilled immediately thereafter. I’ve never heard of someone who watched more than one episode of “Firefly” and didn’t absolutely love it.

+Reed Brummitt Nah, Jayne would be a surprise winner in that he tore the Wookie's arms off. Niska and Jabba, uneasy crimelord allies had alot of credits riding on the outcome of this fight being a "sure thing" yet afterwards Niska suspects Jabba (having more knowledge of a Wookie's abilities) betrayed him to increase his influence in the smuggling ring. Infighting begins between both parties, the heads of the gangs are eliminated and their influence is essentially wiped out in the galaxy. Malcolm Reynolds and Han Solo meet in the Mos Eisley cantina, their debts wiped clean. An armless Chewbacca approaches their table and protests in an irate voice. "Captain Solo I insist that you re-attach my arms immediately" Mal reaches up and pulls off the mask to reveal the head of C3P0. Jayne and Chewie appear behind holding an arm each and reattach them to the irate droid. Blah, etc. They laugh and drink? It got away from me... :-/

And to whoever might read this, I've had an idea floating around in my head for some time: Nathan has jokingly said that he has considered building a replica of Serenity. I want to not only build a life-size replica, but that I want it to be fully functional. I want it to not only be able to climbed in and out of, but I want, more than anything, to see our girl *fly.* To take to the Blue. To be but a first step to actually going out to the Black. I want to make it real. And the thing is...I've even thought about a platform for doing this: Combining the scramjet thrust from the Harrier jump jet with the YF-22 VTOL -- Vertical Take-Off / Landing -- aircraft called Osprey. I want to take these two technologies and somehow shape them into an aircraft that not only looks like Serenity, but flies just like her -- not only technically, but flying with the love of Browncoat Nation behind her. Pardon the pun, but if this ever gets off of the ground, the first thing I would do is fly around the US and Canada to literally pick up the crew from Firefly and let them command her for a day. How gorram shiny would that be?!?

Jewel, first how was the birth? When My wife was pregnant with my son, I was stationed in Germany with the US Army. At midnight my wife wakes me up to bring her to the hospital because it was time. Once we got there, it was a German Uni-Clinicum. Nobody spoke English, and when we got into the room, our mid-wife spoke French and German, our doctor spoke only German, and my wife spoke French and English. I told my wife that I needed to sign out on leave or I would be AWOL. So I asked my wife in English when the baby would be born, she asked the Mid-Wife in French, she asked the doctor in German, he responded in German, the Mid-Wife responded in French and my wife said at least 2 hours. So I left to go to the unit to sign out. I was gone exactly 18 minutes. When I came back into the room, they were laying my son on her chest. Fun times...hehe
