I really like how you (and Cold Steel) are up-front about how it’s not the equal of an actual Japanese katana in cutting or durability but emphasize that it’s a very utilitarian and affordable stand-in. That kind of honesty goes a long way with me.

An Awesome multi use product! Yes the Tactical Katana& Wakizashi Machetes are excellent Hibred Swords. Cold Steel's CEO Lynn Tompson, really came up with an excellent idea he put into creation. As we saw in a privious past Cold Steel video one can infact use the Tactical Katana Machete for survival Hunting / Fishing in taking spearing a Big Fish etc. I can see that the Tactical Katana and Wakizashi and Tactical Chinese War Sword Machete could be properly used to defend against and kill those dangerous little "Godzilla's" Ingiunas. Or the other invasive species such as Constrictors; (Python, Anacondas, Boas) as well as Nile Monators etc. Which in the State of Florida do need to be dispatched as they pose a public safety issue as aggressive dangerors invasive species. I am looking at making, modifying my Tactical Katana into a Double Edge version to sharpen the back side for the ultimate versatility in a survival utility defense impliment.

@@minicoopertn That's because it's really just a machete made to look like a katana. It's awesome, I have one, but it's really more of a bushcraft tool rather than a weapon. If you want an actual weapon that's practical then obviously you want to go with a firearm not a blade. Also assuming you live in the US where we can actually buy and own firearms. Finally they hired someone who knows more than one kind of cut. Actually has some technique behind him. I love cold steels products, but often wondered how these fat guys develop such nice well made well thought out weapons that they obviously have no idea how to use. This guy cuts with his body, his weapon tip hits max velocity at the point of contact, he cut upward as well (in live fights that’s more important than the conventional downward cuts that I can fend off all day, I never lead with the downward angle cut. Everyone knows how to counter it, but upward angle cuts are more difficult to avoid, I describe it as clearing out the middle, that is most people have to completely slide out of its range or get hit) this guy also resets his weapon after the cut and he covers behind the weapon. I like him.

I’d be very surprised if they don’t onshore at least some of their supply chain after what’s happened in China. A lot more people are going to refuse to buy Made in China stuff in the future. Taiwan is too close and the CCP might take them over soon.

No, they completely sold out a few years ago and went completely to China, Taiwan, & India...about the same time their quality and practicality went to shit as well

@@w.w.9047 There are still lots of their made in South Africa blades floating around out there that are of much higher quality.

Was considering getting one of their katanas here then I saw it was made in China. Did a full stop on purchase. Will look at it again if there are other options. China rams our fishing boats. I'm not giving them any business. :(

$60.... This is one of the most awesome things about Cold Steel. They make INCREDIBLE products for EVERY budget. They're not garbage either. Who wants to take a $600 sword outside and actually use it to cut down branches? No one... We hang our $600 piece on the wall and look at it waiting for the apocalypse. So we buy a $60 replica that is 80% of the real thing and kill dragons in our backyard. Or we buy 2 of them... No one beats Cold Steel. Absolutely no one.

I've been saying it for years: Pound for pound, regardless of price point, you'll get your money's worth with Cold Steel - and ALL of their products demand to be used! Co-workers thought I was crazy for using a $100 Recon 1 ultralock folder on the job, then they realized I got more safety and longer lasting edge performance, than the cheap American made Klein Tool knives that we were issued, with a cheesy liner lock and an unknown quickly dulling steel.
