Another tip for Star cases: The non-star layer can be aligned by 6 (from your starting counting position, not how the layer is aligned after the scramble) to switch parity. So If you have 8/Star and the 8 is already a -4 away from your counting position and you get an odd parity count, you can just do a -2 instead of a 4,2 or 4,-2 which is faster. Works also for the other cases, but 4-4/Star makes mostly no sense because of the symmetry, but I also use it for 6-2/Star (the one that goes into Similar Pawn) where it is beneficial.

What tips do you recommend to trace faster?

Probably practice and memorize which combinations of 3 colors mean an odd parity instead of eliminating a color. Idk

Misaligning the top shouldn't change parity if you readjust your position. I would recommend going back on that scramble misaligned and aligned to try to find what you are doing wrong :)

Can CSP be Intuvie like can those three rules like switching layers apply to all cases
@CubeMasterYT5 жыл бұрын
I guess they can, but for some cases doing one of those rules would be quite inefficient and there is probably a better rule out there. My best recommendation is to just follow the series and whatever algs I use for the most efficient solutions. Other ways of changing parity are also pretty intuitive so don't worry too much about that :)

how do you trace from your new position?
@CubeMasterYT6 жыл бұрын
Tracing is the same as the one from my tutorial, but for all my "reference schemes", I start to trace from the top right (instead of bottom left) clockwise in the top layer and the same way in the bottom layer. 0:35
@sp3ctum7 жыл бұрын
I'm really curious to hear your thoughts on how the algs work mirrored, and how they should be learned. I just do them with the middle layer flipped, and it works fine, but I think it's too unconventional for most people. In general I would love to have a lot more emphasis on your videos in the alg document. It's a lot easier to see how the method works when you show it, for example. What do you think?
@CubeMasterYT7 жыл бұрын
For the mirrors, I mostly just switched the layer moves which seems to work fine, but if the alg has too many D moves instead of U moves I might find something better from Brandon's video or the other doc. For my videos, I did change a few algs and reference schemes to make it more comfortable for me, so they are a bit different from the doc, but you can definitely still use them :)

I am easily sub 18 even with parity, but without parity, and not a horrible ep, I can average around sub 12. I truly think that learning CSP is the next step, but it is so confusing and there is so little information about it. My biggest problem is that I don't know what moves change parity and which don't. I am good at tracing, I can do it in about 20 seconds, and getting faster ever time, but after that, if it is not an easy cube shape, I have no idea what moves affect parity!

Wow I'm amazed by this, great that you are doing more content about the method. I was thinking of doing similar videos myself but I've hurt my hands and haven't been able to practice for a long time now. For Squanmate, each link will always be the exact same version. So if i release a new version I will update the link in the readme file to point to it. github.com/sp3ctum/squanmate/blob/master/readme.md If you think it's a good idea, maybe you could change the link on the video's description to point to the readme? Though I have to say it's completely up to the user whether they want to use the same version or not. It will always work and never change. Also thanks a lot for the kind words about Squanmate. I'm super glad you find it helpful.
