There is no biological distinction between a dove and a pigeon. They're part of the same family, which ones we call doves and which we call pigeons is entirely based on coloration (i.e. phenotypical not genotypical). I'm not sure if they explode, you may be thinking of hand grenades.

lol. i've heard something similar for like big horn sheep or mountain goats or maybe all sheep. still, i've never heard first hand accounts of it. i suppose it is the evolutionary backside of a SUPER MAXED flight reflex - sometimes the heart gets too ready to flee and, boom, heart attack.

If you spent every day grinding one specific thing it just comes naturally. You just see everything because all "basic" things become so deeply engrained and building from that in your mind is super easy. I swear if you train your brain on studying openings and tactics like half an hour every day for like a year straight you will see how "normal" it is. Its all about training that big muscle in your head every single day. Time spent training is way less important.

so, based on my whole 5-10 minutes of internet research... there are popular (but false) myths about how birds can explode from eating uncooked rice or seagulls eating alka-seltzer, and birds can indeed die from heart attacks and shock, but i can't find anything about scaring a pigeon so much that it has a heart attack and explodes. the closest things to exploding are hemorrhaging or internal rupturing, but that isn't from shock. -also, pigeons and doves are somewhat similar in that they belong to the same animal family but are not identical.- edit: the difference between doves and pigeons is linguistical, not taxonomical. usually, the dove name is assigned to smaller ones and pigeon to bigger ones, but either name would technically be correct. i'm very interested about the exploding dove that cristian saw 😰

It's true that chess players, especially GM's aren't marketable, but the issue is we don't put them in a position to market them. We need to allow their personalities to show through. Thanks to social media/youtube exposure people really root for Fabi, Wesley, Levon or Anish because they seem like genuinely decent and likeable people. Even Hans has his fans thanks to his streaming. Hikaru has said it before, more players need to work to raise their own profiles.

Christian is 100% right about storylines and rivalries will grow chess viewership and in turn make chess players more money.
@akshatkhatri95155 ай бұрын
On the topic of matches, you don't even need big hyped up matches but tournaments with knockout match formats like tennis. Imagine a tournament with top-64 players in a single elimination draw and 4 rapid game matches with Armageddon tiebreaks. You can easily have a 7 day event and you can have atleast 5 events such as this each year. You can even have 8-10 blitz game matches. It will be a great sporting spectacle and an insta hit format. The only potential bottleneck is the money and the organization with top-64 players. They probably won't share rooms like the open tournaments lol. You will need to secure some good sponsorship but this definitely is a direction chess should take. You can still have all the classical RRs you do today. They are very few in numbers anyway per year.

Tenis is a more popular sport worldwide. After all, one can follow it without using prior knowledge. But remember, like in chess, only the top 50-100 players can survive financially. People should get creative with big markets like India, China, or Arab countries. As an idea, creating big four tournaments with good prize funds, like in tennis, would be something to think about. There is value in scarcity.

Draws are 0, wins 1, losses -1. So, if someone wins one game, loses 2 and draws 3, hisnscore would be -1. It's not official, just a way for people to understand how well someone did in the tournament without the draws.
