I understood the font-size concept. But my question why do we use 4 ways of representing it. It would have been % itself which would work finer in all the devices or any kind of resolution. Why? Why? Please answer. Your answer is more valuable. Thank you!

It is for historical reasons. Pixels came first and then high resolution monitors came. Pixels had the shortcomings in those devices. Consider a 6" phone having 1080pixels and you have font size of 12 px. Then % came, but it is hard to calculate the exact size in %. Then em came, but has shortcomings when used in the nested elements such as list within a list. Then rem came to rectify it
