I've seen sites that add an ellipsis when text overflows. Could you do a video on that?

Hey Jefferson. It is on the way! I don't know when, but I am writing it currently alongside some other videos. I've been held up by long hours at work unfortunately so haven't been able to post much in the last 6 months. Just beginning to get back to things now

Yes to Grid and Flexbox. In the next collection of videos I'm making. JavaScript a bit further down the line. Want to cover all of CSS first

How about the css property text-wrap? I use text-wrap: balance , it's very helpful to arrange my paragraph nicely. But I think it has limits on number of lines.

How do I get a job as a web developer in UK. I look for jobs and they already want full stack or many years experience. I'm still learning but would like to try to get involved in web Dev in a team as I'm not fully competent.

First, ignore the job requirements. The job postings are often written by HR, not tech teams. They overcompensate. If you have something to offer the role, then apply. The worst that can happen is they hire someone else, but at least you’re getting used to searching for roles and putting in applications. I hire for my team and I always say ignore fads. There’s always a new fashionable library or framework. But they come and go. Just focus on core technologies. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Git. Learn those four vanilla and really well. I know it’s tempting to jump on Tailwind and React and Next but leave them alone for a long while. If you develop a deep understanding of the fundamentals of core technologies then you will be instantly hireable. We can train you in house to use what we need. There’s a big problem in the industry with problem solving skills. So develop those. Use Codewars and work through the Katas. Lastly, demonstrate skills with projects for a portfolio. You need maybe three or four big ones. One that shows good use of detail - something CSS based like a recreation of the Stripe landing page. A second that uses an API. We see a lot of the Movie Database type projects. Look up Karl Hadwen’s Netflix clone. Then a CRUD project. Something where you can create, update and delete data. Like a todo list or a clone of Trello’s functionality. If you were to add something that had authentication where people can log in, and you can explain and recreate the functionality from those projects then you’re a valuable developer. Don’t listen to people that say it’s easy and will be quick. Take your time and allow yourself go through those steps.

@@craigabourne Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. I logged into Codewars Katas. I never seen this before so it takes a bit of getting familiar with. I don't see anything for html or css although i see javascript. Can you learn ss or html on this platform?
