I feel compelled to comment because of some of the unnecessary negativity. The opener is a long windup of the speaker talking about the complexity of her css refactor but starting ~13:00 she starts on some best practices. This is the most useful part of the talk.

She's referring to modern/no so modern in terms of Corsera's stack, not in terms of the technology herself. Better terms would have been new codebase and legacy codebase
