How can we do it for other geometries like IGES or STEP files. I want to do RCS simulations for an aircraft

I don't have experience to work with these files. But, as I know CST can support them. Maybe you can find some tutorials about them.

what does it mean theat alpha phi i dont understand them ?
@EMSpectrumLab Жыл бұрын
"Theta" and "Alpha" are the Elevation and Azimuth angles of incident wave, respectively. Also, "Alpha" is the rotation angle of electric-field vector.

@@EMSpectrumLab how can we know, what numbers should we assign to them? I mean the angle you used will give correct results for a surface made of PEC as well?
@EMSpectrumLab6 ай бұрын
@@amirbit2086 They are dependent on your problem. The angles are not related to the material of object.

@@EMSpectrumLab yeah but that is frequency against square meter. I want it frequency versus dBsm. plz
@EMSpectrumLab6 ай бұрын
@@amirbit2086 For this purpose, you should import the main RCS graph (m^2 vs freq) in MATLAB and convert it to dBsm vs freq.

Hello Sir. Your videos are very informative. Can you please further extend this video and show us how can we get graph of bistatic vs frequency in cst? It’s really urgent as i need to add graph in my paper, thank you

Dear, unfortunately I didn't find direct solution to plot bistatic RCS vs. frequency in CST. But, I suggest you to use MATLAB to create this figure by one of below cases (they are a little time consuming methods). 1. Define farfield broadband monitor and run the simulation with "Time Domain" solver. After that, in farfield results, define farfield cuts for Theta or Phi. CST will generate some plots and you can import them one by one as .txt file in MATLAB, and specify the single point of Theta & Phi. Then create a new matrix from them and create your considered figure versus frequency. 2. Without definition of farfield broadband monitor, run the simulation by "Asymptotic" solver. Enter polarization, incidence and observation angle, and also the frequency band. After that, like time domain, it will generate some plots due to each frequency. Then you can repeat the remained steps of case 1.
