Hate to break it to you but Germany used methamphetamine even before the war so they can work more. It was an alternative to coffee in case they have a particular stressful day and coffee might not cut it. If you think about it most performance enhancement drugs are invented in Germany. Even after the war, East Germany was the pioneers on anabolic steroids.
