I tell you all, I absolutely loathe this darn trip optimizer (TO). It seems like whenever a GEVO is leading, TO is working. Going forward, at least here in the upstate on the Spartanburg Sub, I will not be going for CSX unless something real nice is on a train like this, the train is an oddball, or if they're not running with TO! I'm sorry, but I can't stand these turtle speed trains. I have seen them MOVE without TO. Even back then when GEVOS were leading they'd be moving faster than this. I'm certain the speed of M693 in the video is also a byproduct of the new regime of management. This is a secondary mainline. The slow speed on the Belton Sub (25 mph) is understandable because it's merely a branch line. Plus, the clickety-clack of the jointed rail is very nice to hear and it's cool seeing the business between CSX and the GRL&W (Greenville & Western) short line RR. That L799 can be quite long coming back to Spartanburg sometimes and CSX even runs an extra on Saturdays to the GRL&W in the form of U799 if needed. The Belton Sub is cool, but man when they have TO on the Spartanburg Sub.... only one word fits the bill for me. That word is, boring. Anyways, rant aside, enjoy the video!
