🍊 CSX Trains Over the Little Gunpowder Falls Trestle

A couple of trains on the CSX Philadelphia Subdivision "Philly Sub" trestle over the Little Gunpowder Falls stream in Joppatowne, Maryland. First we see the westbound Tropicana Juice/Intermodal Container train CSX I033, the we see the westbound mixed manifest freight train CSX M422. From this angle, the rails look precariously perched up there, but it's quite sturdy and can handle millions of tons of steel. This has an interesting name, 'Gunpoweder falls trestle'. The mighty CSX trains pass through conspicuously. 👍👍🥂🥂

I appreciate the evidence of a past structure shown in the video, as well as views of the Maryland winter sound, sky and landscapes. I hope you can continue making a good living with these videos. And that these skills are passed on to others. Train is heading toward Bayview, where I spent many hours clerking at that yard, 1970-74 West-bound trains were often delayed due to yard operations through the cross-overs and turn-out leading into the west end of the yard. The elevation profile of that stretch of track resembles a flattened roller-coaster. The dips are where it crosses falls, rivers and creeks. I believe the gradients are about half a percent. Bayview yard is located on the flanks of one of those dips. A runaway cut of cars would roll out the east end and on to the main, into the Herring Run dip, oscillating back and forth across the creek. Or so I was told by The Old Heads. Funny you should mention that! I was just talking to someone today at the tracks that I might end up going back to work (real job) if things continue they way they have been going.
