I was super surprised they didn't know. (Nothing wrong with not knowing of course.) Plus there was no for the water. Just have a one by one hole above where you want to drop it, place the TNT in it, then light it, the walls will stop it from moving side to side. They even had that but just made it unnecessarily complex by making the water push the TNT into the hole.

Funny thing, that one is actually euclidean. Meaning, you don't need portals to make it, you would just need sideways stairs and stuff. However, if you wanted to walk around in it, you would need to build it three times at different orientations, with portals between them functioning as gravity changes. That's what I did, at least. There might be another solution I haven't thought of.

This makes me think of trying to use micro-redstone to fit a complex system into a one block space, but connecting to a normal output. Maybe shrinking a redstone clock into a one-block space but connecting to a normal size dispenser, or maybe taking one of those giant Auto smelters and putting it into a smaller space, but connecting it to a regular sized chest. Basically, just taking all these things that take up an incredible amount of space, and making them about as large as the average electronic.

Here's a suggestion to refine your first experiment. Have the tnt first fall into a chamber where pistons extend towards it from all sides. It will look like it doesn't do anything, because you aren't pushing it, the pistons are a space away, but if the tnt is even the tinyest bit off center, it should be corrected by the pistons, so long as they all fire simultaneously. Then use a sticky piston to pull the block under the tnt out of the way, and let it fall onto the target zone. Repeat multiple times in separate locations, and you should have a fairly difinitive answer.

I have been working with tnt cannons for a long time, now the hardest part about new updates is that they made the water slow down the farther the stream goes, a water source only goes 7 blocks out so there are work arounds like slime block etc. If you work with tnt cannons you can learn a lot about the constraints and parameters is what I'm trying to say. I'm pretty sure it was just a coincidence that the 2x scale TNT made a similarly sized crater to the 8 TNT exploding at the same time. Even when multiple TNT blocks explode at the exact same time, the game still calculates the effects one at a time, so the only reason multiple TNT blocks produce a bigger crater is because the first explosion that's calculated breaks the blocks around it and then the following explosions are going mostly through air, which has less resistance, so they can break blocks slightly farther away. No matter how much TNT you use, if it all explodes in the same spot at the same time, the size of the crater is ultimately limited by the distance a normal TNT block can break dirt with nothing but air in the way. The scaled up TNT, on the other hand, actually has a higher explosion power, so scaled up TNT can create larger craters. In vanilla Minecraft, you can use commands to change the explosion power of creepers and ghast fireballs, but not TNT, so if you want to test how entity scale changes explosion power it might be better to test with creepers.
@mogbomybb2 жыл бұрын
I've finally f0und someone else who needs to pick up any dropped sprite they see! I saw you take the dirt piece from the tiny patter explosion
@nikkiofthevalley3 жыл бұрын
The way TNT works, is that it sends a ton of raycasts, then it deletes the blocks within a certain distance of the origin of the raycast, that are intersecting a ray. The reason it's inconsistent, is bc there's a bit of randomness to the direction the raycasts go. This is my best guess from reading MC's source, which is very complex and hard to read for me, as I don't really program in Java too much.
@nikkiofthevalley3 жыл бұрын
Also, TNT stacking doesn't increase power, you just had it spread out a bit, so it had more raycasts coming from different directions, so more blocks got destroyed. The mod actually increases the power value.
@trbz_87452 жыл бұрын
15:13 It's from the 10x size TNT most likely. That has to do with why 1 TNT with 1000x power made a smaller hole than 512 TNT with normal power due to MC's explosion physics. Basically, all explosions in MC release 1024 rays that break blocks they intersect, regardless of size--the explosion power changes how many blocks the rays can break. So past about explosion power 10, the holes stop getting bigger and instead it increases the length of those line patterns in the ground created by the rays. A normal TNT is power 4, so the mega TNT is power 4000 (enough to break Obsidian btw). If you go into spectator, you'll see that there are a bunch of 1-block tunnels burrowing into the ground beneath and around the mega TNT crater. So why is the 512x TNT hole a regular-looking hole? Because instead of 1024 super strong rays, it made 524228 regular-strength rays, so you get all the damage in one spot rather than in a few long lines stretched out over hundreds of blocks.

For the "one TNT with volume of x = x TNT with the volume of 1", no, that's not the case. Multiple TNT with a normal size have the exact same explosive power, but because they are slightly displaced from one another, make a slightly larger crater, but not much of a difference. A TNT that is bigger, because it has a larger explosive power, it makes a bigger explosion. Now, you'd think that TNT explosions are just a radius, but as other people have explained, it's actually a bunch of rays. These rays cause that "stripe" effects as well as the weird patterns in the larger explosions. The distance between two rays, Ray A with a slope of 0 and Ray B with a slope of 0.1, is very small if the length of the rays only go to 0.01. If they went to 1000, however, you'd be able to tell the difference. The same applies here. The longer the rays, the more spread out the points on them become the further you go out along said rays. So there you go, theory debunked.

Okay so 1 th1nk that why the blasts of the TNT weren't the same at the beg1nn1ng exper1ment was due to the block underneath the 1st TNT was missing but due to the s1ze of the TNT's h1t-box becom1ng an ent1ty 1t d1dn't fall 1nto the hole, therefore 1f you had removed the block underneath the second TNT the blast rad1us be1ng em1tted by the TNT would have been greater because a block was m1ss1ng from the equat1on. As such 1 bel1eve TNT would make the same or very s1m1lar (more so than 1n the v1deo) blast rad1us / explos1on . Yes all of the 1s were intentional.....
