Nice little tractor. I helped with tobacco one summer when I was young. The guy had about 10 acres of it. Mostly all hand work with that stuff.

Nice old tractor, I am always amazed at how similar the old jhon Deere tractors are to my rough terrain 480b jhon Deere forklift. I think they even run the same transmission.

Thought I'd look back at this video. Go my eyes on a John Deere 1020 and John Deere 830 i think. May look at them this weekend. One has a loader. Any known issues or things to look for?
@gleanerk Жыл бұрын
Check the oils , look it over, give it a drive around and make your decision. They are very well made tractors .

I didn't realize the 1020 was so close to the horse power of a 2010 , But the 2010 had its problems so I guess it replaced it. I would like to someday have one myself but for now I'll use what I got. Thanks for posting this one cousin Scotty ! Cousin Bandit

Can you show how to change the hydraulic fluid and filter on this 1020?
@gleanerk2 жыл бұрын
I’m not able to do at this time but if you’ll put a 5 gallon bucket under the filter ,take a wrench and loosen the filter housing let oil drain ,finish unscrewing the filter off ,take old filter out replace with new filter , replace large o ring ( observe how the old one is on ) , I always put oil on o ring . The tricky part is getting it back all together with o ring not pinching, I usually push up on filter housing while turning to secure o ring tight against tractor.tighten it up, crank up tractor and see if it’s leaking anywhere around filter. If so you’ll need to take off and do the same procedure again. No leaks you are successful replace oil . I hope you’re ok with explaining it to you. It’s really not that hard if you’ll follow what I said . Hey I’ve screwed up in the past and had a leak ,redid it and it preformed well . Thanks and Merry Christmas Ethan. I wish I was there to help you.

Question. When hooking up the draw bar what pin is needed to secure the front part to the housing? So it can’t slide out.
@gleanerk5 жыл бұрын
WilloBeastin Hey, tractor in the shop getting a head gasket repair or I’d show you. Will look in my shop this afternoon after work for my back up pin I have and will try to video it for you . The pin is about 3 inches long by 1 inch thick and uses a pin to hold in .
