CT Filters (smooth filters and sharp filters, FBP Recon)

CT Filters are a crucial part of image reconstruction and image viewing in all computed tomography images. In this video we go over what is a smoothing filter and how does it work. As well as what are sharpening filters.
Within the FBP (Filtered Back-Projection) image reconstruction a filter is required to generate the proper images, i.e. non blurred images. We cover why this filter is called a ramp filter and how the name comes from the shape of this filter in the frequency or Fourier space.

I would appreciate more videos on fourier tranforms :) but the ramp filters you showed are a good place to start learning more in CT applications

I just read Mosby's CT textbook from beginning to end, took the CT registry, and failed it by two points(73%). A lot of the questions seemed totally foreign to me. Not so much that i simply didn't know the answers to the questions, but the questions themselves were nothing like I'd read from Mosby's. Im watching your videos now, but would you know of any other resources to prepare for CT registry test? Im watching your videos now and they're helpful, but i would like any additional material if possible.

Thanks for sharing your experience as I know this is a very hard experience. I’m glad that you’re looking for more resources as this shows you have a positive attitude. This will help as you continue to learn. Right now I just share content via these videos and blog posts but I may have other options later. Which type of questions seemed foreign and I can try to make content on those if I don’t have it?
