As a CT resident over the past 18 years and a gun owner, I have supported CCDL and continue to support them, called and emailed my state reps, governor, attorney general and local reps to express my concern over their infringement of our 2A rights here in CT. I appreciate you taking time to do a video about CT and the insane gun control legislation here. Most other gun tube videos seem to discuss federal or CA, IL, WA, OR, NY gun control, but very seldom mention CT. Of the emails and letters, I have sent, Chris Murphy is the only one to respond with a "canned" letter thanking me for my support and asking for donations to his reelection so clearly, he didn't read what I wrote. But I agree with you that as a voter here in CT, we have to keep up the pressure on state legislators, state representatives and make sure we vote in every election held.

Thanks for the response. I'm sure I've received the same email from Murphy. Our local organizations are doing a solid job, but we need to amplify the message to our representatives. I also think a lot of people in CT have an unfairly-biased view of gun owners and we can be [respectfully] vocal about our rights while being positive members of our communities. Maybe we can turn some votes in the process, but mostly aimed at tearing down unfair bias.

I owned a house and had a CCW IN Ct..I was a member of the fin,fur ,feather, North East corner of the state.I got so sick of Daniel p.Malloy, gov at the time, that I voted with my feet and moved to Florida.

Only 2 more months until the deadline now to register them. Then once they get their money from you for registering it. Next year they will come up with another one and tax you again for your rights. Disgusting.

@@rjg02005 I moved to CT 4 years ago, in a relatively nice quiet town. I had to go through hurdles to get my license.

I was thinking of moving to CT from FL. I used to live in MA. Before I left MA, I remember CT wasn't nearly as bad. I did a quick search of their current gun policies and decided against moving to CT because it's not a free state. A shame, because I love the climate and location. I figure based on my lifetime of state income tax, property tax, sales tax, vehicle tax, etc. etc., they probably missed out on $750,000+ from me alone because of their gun policies. I guess they don't want or need my money.

@@rjg02005 Preordered an AK a week ago and stocking up on lowers. Telling people to invest in lowers while we still can for now. I’m not sure where you’re located but I’m in the North East I’d you ever want to meet up for a ride or a range day.

I Understand my friend,All Too Well! I Just moved Back to CT after living up further North,only to find out all this new Garbage,so many things i once did Legally are on the fast track to being illegal,or already are completely now. I wish I could say more,had i know just how crazy things have gotten since i last lived here,I'd have moved to Texas with s cousin. This is just stupidity!

@@rjg02005 it requires all handguns to have a loaded chamber indicator as well as a magazine disconnect lockout. Under the section that is labeled “improving the design safety standards for semiautomatic handguns”

I'm not a lawyer. That said, generally speaking: if you're following the law carrying on foot (must be concealed as of 10/1), you can do the same in your car without worry. It gets complicated when you take the gun, holstered or otherwise, off your body.

For the pistol brace thing, taking off the brace is still perfectly legal no? Not talking about 6667

If you're in CT, the best info I can find is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6bFo4CNrsimi80 (links in the description to what CT has said regarding legality). The ATF has a number of determining factors they're considering such as optics, overall weight... etc., but the one feature they're currently going after is the brace itself. If 6667 passes (possibly this coming Tuesday?) then I don't know the answer to whether it's legal or not.

@@rjg02005 gotcha, because by my understanding, a ct other can have a brace or just a bare buffer tube so to get around the registration thing just take off the brace and it’s still ct compliant

Wow, sorry to hear about the troubles you’re having. I’m having a similar problem. The State of CT is trying to send me to jail for a rifle (ar15) that I didn’t buy, trade a horse for, promised to do work for etc. it’s not mine, i just knew it was in my house,

I never understand why people who hate living in a place, who hate the prevailing norms, don't just leave. If this place is so heinous, so oppressive, move to a place that reflects your values. There are so many to choose from. Lots of places that are nothing like CT or New England. All sorts of climates and generally cheaper to live in.

I'm not planning on living here forever, but for the moment, I have a good job and it's a good fit for family reasons. For now, this is my home, and while I'm here I'm going to do what I can to keep it free from people who feel they can legislate-away liberties.

Not everybody an just up and leave when they have a home and a job and a family. It's called fighting for what u believe and if everyone just upped and walked away then it would end up the same everywhere because nobody would fight. The only reason other places are the way they are is because people there fought for it!
