Diagnosis of pyelonephritis mainly depends on clinical pictures and UTI investigations

The iodinated contrast is in the urine (ie the lumen of the urinary bladder) and therefore soft tissue structures such as the malignant mass arising from the anterior bladder wall are non-enhancing. Similarly, a large clot within the bladder may give a similar appearance on CTIVU scan

Why do you refer to the kidney on the right side of the patient's body as the left kidney? If the spinal process is aiming downward, shouldn't the kidney on the right be right and left be left?

+Amber Wiseman The coronal images are oriented as if the patient is facing us. Thus, what appears to our left is the patient's right. I hope this helps. dm
