CT Scans and Tomographic Recon in PYTHON

In this video I go over basic analytical reconstruction techniques in the field of computed tomography, In particular, I manually show how back projection and filtered back projection work, and then give the corresponding functions from the skimage library.

This was really grate! Maybe you could do a follow on video of this by taking the 2D images from a CT Scan to create a 3D model. This can be done for example in mayavi

Cool stuff. A phd student at our lab used electrical capacitance tomography to determine the vapor fraction in an opaque pipe of refrigerant. Sucessive images over time would approximate the fluid-vapor interface. Similar math to reconstruct images from a dozen or so simple capacitive plates.
