Its very interesting the way we have different perspectives about this man who ruined the lives of soo many people who were affected by the clashes of 92 and 97 in the Rift Valley. Loosing homes, parents, relatives. To me this person became the devil incarnate because of what he did to us.

@@janetmacharia3121 that is also true. Just acknowledging that even in the midst of all ills that happened during his regime, there are those who say his hidden side of generosity.

@@janetmacharia3121pole for what your pain. Sorry to ask you, did someone tell you that he ruined your lives or did you hear this from others? I need to know where this narrative comes from because it's truly confusing when the same person means opposite to others. I assumed the clashes were between 2 ethnicities not a directive from above. I say this because it's very easy to apportion blame on a person just because of his alignment. It's like you always hearing people that "the Smith" family are evil because one of their son's killed someone 20 years ago. You will end up passing this narrative to generations when it's not necessarily true about the whole family. I pray that God will bring justice to you and your family one day and I pray that you will heal from the pain and loss. Have you all gone for counseling?

Mzee Moi loved children,he loved school and loved education. My mum and I schooled in schools he greatly supported.I would look forward to his visits because that would mean feast and true to Mercy's word,he was like 'watoto wakule nyama' and a whole cow was chinjwad..He would even settle fees for the less fortunate. We also did do preps after friday we resumme class on Monday.

I have respect for CTA, and good for you people who never had to encounter the ruin he brought upon the lives of many. Economic ruin, Nyayo House torture chambers where some of our own were put in. Clashes where I remember having to escape from.home with my two younger sisters who were 4 years then in tow. I was a child at only 10yrs at night escaping from people who were killing and torching the homes of Kikuyus. Tribalism is a monster.

Exactly this. My family and I fell on the other side of the coin when it came to this man. Deep, deep wounds that have impacted generations.

I know a Kalenjin - Major Belsoi who was beheaded in this same clashes. I truly hope that there will be a reconciliation meeting had where the two communities will sit down and talked about what happened - the truth, recognize the pains caused ,Ask for forgiveness and even though the loss of lives can't be reversed - it'll be a start so that we can stop hating a whole tribe because of some individuals who committed these crimes.

I remember that meat counting in Mountie and sometimes people would miss... Surely, growing children with limited protein ... Rights against humanity!! My brothers went to Kabarak, kumbe they lived in a different world from me.

Moi was a terrible dictator he ruined Kenya's economy BUT he left a legacy in education, he built an education institution that will last ! Other wealthy men leave zero institutions.
