Walking to balcony might be tricky, but that is a solution when I will not go to balcony for a long time. Thanks for your boardgame suggestion!

I backed the latest KS and just got Season 1 for Christmas 2022. I played my first solo game last night with the same exact setup. Rasputin really is a beast as his Arcane Mastery ramps up. It was clear in my game if he didn't put down Cthulhu with his last roll then the game was lost.

@John Baker I've found some keyword abilities really make the game "easier", but sometimes the dice or mythos cards can go wrong for the party. :)

So you have all the enemys put aside? ie two Vampires? not just one that the setup card says?

The monsters on the card are just for map setup. All others of the same type are put to the side to cause trouble later. :)

First turn you give Rasputin 4 actions... Moved, x2 fights (three actions), and then you got him to search. Easy enough to do in solo if/when you forget how many actions you have already done :)

With toughness do you ignore the entire die or just the "success" from it? You seemed to ignore one that was a success/tentacle against Sister Beth. Just curious as to whether or not she should have taken an extra sanity and just ignored the wound or if that was correct.

While you were trying to destroy equipment with Rasputin 38 minutes in, you were already crazy enough to have a bonus green die, which might have helped save time.

Holy cow brawling is a beast power when you max it out, but I think you still get your 2 free rerolls per attack even after you leave level 2 to level 3, right? If so, you seem to have stopped doing that outright.

Brawling maxed is AWESOME!! And I would typically only reroll to prevent sanity damage to keep him somewhat sane for a little longer. ;) Thanks for watching!

So this is just an arena fighting game with Mythos flavour - I just bought Kingdom Death and costed me $$$$$ but not having much fun with it - considering picking this one up hoping its not as complicated or impossible to beat ~_~

Win or lose, this has been a very fun game with everyone in my game group. I've never played Kingdom Death, putting all those minis together kept me away. Other than Shadows of Brimstone, I'm hoping to stay with miniature games that come already together. :) Cthulhu Death May Die is a keeper in my collection.

Dale the Casual Gamer you are right - it took me an eternity to assemble all the statues, final assembly looks impressive but i dont really if it was really worth it - they could have decrease the sizes and details a bit and save the headache - but the game is nearly impossible to beat (I know there are people out there who did it) but losing in a campaign of 70-80 hours and starting agian is mad lol but meh thats what its called kingdom DEATH lol I alreayd ordered my copy on eBay - found kickstarter edition with unspeakable box for a really good price - I invested many hours playing FFG Different lovecraftian games too

Wouldn’t fire tokens have come with you when you dragged all the monsters from the room with The sister down to Cthulhu with Rasputin? There was a ton of fire in that room. Or am I misunderstanding how moving through fire works?

On the final turn? Yes, but they would not have resolved since the game condition was met. Not a perfect play through, but everyone was going insane. ;)

During the second turn of Sister Beth you took 4 actions (Heal, Move and 2 Attacks). Also on the 4th action, you used the monkey paw to deklare an additional success, but took only 1 sanity hit and not two (one for the pawn and one on the die) All around Min 10:00.

Good catch on Sister Beth for taking 4 actions. She didn't have Monkey Paw but an ability to allow to count 1 sanity as a hit (high strung). Thanks for the comment and watching!

@@DaletheCasualGamer Ah I see, the paw was with Rasputin, sorry for that! During the action phase of Rasputin around 38:30, I believe you missed out on the green dice he gets because of lowered sanity Very nice playthrough, I enjoyed it a lot!

You completely forgot to take account of the Monkey paw for Rasputin, he should have take 2 wounds when getting it, then a lot of sanity damage in the next turn ((the first roll had 2 elder sign symbol, the second one, another one) and probably after. But nice video anyway since you were consistent (you didn't apply neither the good effect nor the bad one, it was like you discarded it).

With the Monkey Paw, you only take two wounds if you have the monkey, and the effect is a “may”, which really isn’t any good if you have arcane mastery, unless you want to take sanity damage. I could have discarded it but thought there may come a time when I wanted sanity damage to “level up”. Thanks for watching! Have you had a chance to play the game solo or in a group?

If by easy, you mean I won as opposed to the typical end result of me playing Arkham Horror ... you are correct. I owe it to my two well skilled investigators. ;) I got in a four player game this weekend and it went well. Very similar to Arkham Horror, player turns are quick, so down time is not an issue. Got this game over x-mas, it's a shame it's so messy - the monsters not being able to fit on the board properly when there's more than a couple, keeping track of individual monsters health especially whilst moving and a couple of other rough edges really keep me from loving this game. Anybody else with the same opinion?

Tiles definitely feel like they should be a little larger given how often stuff is spawning in. Some kind of health dial in the bases also seems like it might be useful. Maybe a cutout with a cardboard spinner visible through it. When you've got one mini that takes up an entire room, that's never gonna play comfortably with horde spawning as well. Did you ever figure out a solution? Either proxy figures or something else?
