it is so hard for people in the USA to set these records because penta peguin's driving ability is only as good as polar's and pura's in the american version. But I think that the other versions of the game have penta penguin's driving ability as top speed, acceleration, and turning

22dab95 That's true, Penta have slow speed on NTSC-U. But you can still get decent times on every track and especially tracks where you use Dingo.

miabua73 For time trials, I tend to do best with N. Tropy. I also wish the game was more difficult in arcade mode. Human players have an unfair advantage because the standard CPU racers don't use shortcuts, and they don't get some of the better weapons like the uka uka mask, or the blue electric orb. Once I beat all the oxide times, and got all platinum relics, I would like some fun arcade racing, but it is just unfortunately too easy when you get really good.

TheMarlon4400 I do and I still always get either first or second. Even if I play on super hard difficulty, I still have a massive advantage because the human player gets weapons that the CPU controlled player does not. For example, the blue orb, and the aku aku/uka uka masks are only available to the human player

The trick is to jump from the ground, to the fence, then from the fence and over. You'll never reach the other side otherwise. /edit - it's somewhat precise and difficult to learn.

Ok, so *how did you get a 3 for 3 in the lake shortcut?* I can't even do it once... Also, is it faster to do derapages or to jump at the "8" section?

The shortcut is difficult. It took me weeks, if not months, to get it 3 times in a row for the first time. What you need is the right angle and timing to jump up to the fence, then jump from the fence over the lake. It's faster to jump/froggy if you get a speedboost from the downhills before - see the speed-o-meter and you'll see what I mean. Jumping preserves speed since you don't lose it in-air. But same goes the opposite way if you have low speed and jump. You gotta learn when it's useful and when it's not. Hope this helps. :)

What program do you use to record? On OBS like I use, I first set the game to NTSC > then when I see the black and white screen > I then change to SECAM. That usually gives color to the game.

man can you give me a tip? i'm trying so hard to get the first SC but i kinda don't jump as high as you, do you also bounce/jump on the little wall? does it makes difference if i jump with l1 or r1 and last, is it just a speed thing? (i mean if i go enough fast i'll be able to do it just by jumping) please help D:

Hi. Yes, you need to first jump on the ground up on the wall, and then get another jump off of the wall, otherwise you won't make over the water. So, you need to jump twice, doesn't matter if it's with R1 or L1. It's somewhat precise - you need high speed, a good angle and well timed jumps. It took me a very long time to learn it, but enough practice you should be able to do it consistently. As limited as my explaining is, I hope it still will help. :)

I can do the first shortcut with super turbo pad cheat, i didn't know it was possible with no cheat. do you think I can do it with polar/pura? I want to beat nitrous oxide with them

You can do it with every character, but the worse they turn, the higher the difficulty will be. Just remember you need to jump both from the ground, and another time on the wall. Also, this skip is very hard. So if you have problems winning over Oxide, I wouldn't recommend it.

@@miabua73 I can confirm its hard as balls. Just did it few times with coco but having horrible time in staying on the track or even making the jump. Did maybe 200 tries and only did it 5 times.
