ctrlX DRIVE - External encoder port uses an absolute linear encoder with Hiperface & SSI protocol

The ctrlX DRIVE supports rotary and linear encoders with different signal configurations and protocols.
This video shows how to configure the drive’s external encoder port with an absolute linear encoder using these protocols:
• Hiperface
• SSI interface

- Hiperface with 40um sine wave 1Vpp
- SSI interface with 0.25um resolution

- Start ctrlX DRIVE Engineering to find and connect to the converter XCS2
- Use automatic encoder scanning to find what is connected to Multi-encoder interface port XG21
- Select Encoder 2 and Operation Mode (OM) to identify the connected encoder and assign to system encoder 2
- Activate expert mode in the encoder configuration window
