You can get your PAL even if you don't intend on owning a firearm. It's safety training more than anything, and if you ever do want to handle a firearm you will be a much safer shooter in the field or on the range. It also adds to the number of Canadians that have it and it sends a message to Ottawa.

I live in downtown Toronto . Gun crime and police shootings never happened in my neighborhood. In the past year , it’s been like the Wild West ( But oddly, I don’t see legal gun owners roaming in packs terrorizing the city. Sometimes after shooting competitions we do go out for chicken wings ) The legal gun bans are pure political theatre and extremely undemocratic; meanwhile real public safety is imploding . I’m looking forward to an election soon please.
