Bitwig and FL studio have this midi scripting. Also in reaper you can create your own custom plugins or ad-ons with their ReaScript. But this is killer you're teaching us this stuff!!!

I have an old Launchpad mk1 I try to use. I get midi signals into Cubase, but not the right ones out of it to get the LEDs of the buttons to work right. This tutorial is a good starting point for me ❤. Maybe I get it to work now.

This is such a cool video, I knew there had to be a way to have 1 knob do both zoom in and out with Cubase 12. In times past I’d have to use midi translaltor pro to change the knob turns to 2 new CC messages. It’s weird that Cubase still solely separates zoom into two commands, you’d think by now they’d just add the option for midi controllers(along with track select, transpose, etc) Hopefully I can sit down and explore making a script for my setup. Thanks again for making this vid!

Hello Everyone! I hope this video helps all of you to develop your own custom scripting in Cubase. Please feel free to download the ZOOM script to allow you to control the cubase zoom feature with your MIDI controller! Enjoy! - Ryan. * Please use this new link to get the zip file. * Cubase ZOOM script download: www.rkmproductions.com/downloads/cubase-scripts/Cubase_Zoom_Script.zip

Ryan thank you for this! Please can you help, I'm trying to understand the preferences XMLs in cubase, have you any experience in tweaking them, many parameters are not documented publicly anywhere?

Ryan, I LOVE that you are such a kind soul to share your knowledge and experience. If I may ask... ...Do you have any experience with Blue Cat Audio's "Patchwork", "Remote Control", "Plug n Script" or other tools?

Great video, is there a way we can program midi cc for fader since Cubase does not allow MIDI CC to be assigned to the faders. Please advice. Thank you
@ryanknaggs Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I do remember controlling everything with CCs. But can't remember if I did this with faders. I'm going to experiment and find out how to control fader info in Cubase with some way. Thank you for asking me about this. I'll look into a way. :)

So educational and calm, very nice. Unfortunately, the link to the script no longer works. If you ever see a need to be able to scroll back and forth between channels and write a script for this, I would treat you to a cup of coffee.

Can any MIDI script be imported into any software (DAW) that accepts MIDI scripts, or must the script be designed for the computer software (DAW) specifically?
@ryanknaggs Жыл бұрын
The MIDI script I used was JavaScript 5 only for Cubase. It had it's own syntax to do this. I was looking all over the internet for help with this. I know that there are some other sequencers (Daws) that also allow you to write scripts for their software, but I believe it will be a different syntax then the one here for Cubase. I hope this helps. :)
