I usually ie always, use GarageBand in iOS/iPadOS. It does a lot of what I need, automation being notable by its absence however. This, is pretty good. Cubasis is more comprehensive, and these features and the fact it does MIDI out is great (GB iOS only sends ‘STOP’ and ‘START’!, and its MIDI clock if you set the GB software switch, I’ve had a utility watch the output). Thanks for showing how.

That’s too bad you missed the sale that just ended a few hours ago. It was Cubasis 3 for $17.99 upgrade from LE to full or $29.99 for the full app. All iAP were 25-50% off too. It’ll be on sale again . Totally worth it
