Thank you so much for sharing! I'm not a guitarist but have been suffering with CTS for two years, its an absolute nightmare! pain from hand to upper back/shoulder 24/7 sadly. I really appreciate you sharing these exercises and taking the time to make this! I felt quite a relieving tingle after following along :) I used to rest my phone on my pinky too Anyways thanks again, subscribed! Hope your symptoms have improved since this video :)

My pleasure,ironically I’ve acquired shoulder/ back pain not sure how i got it .From what you say sounds like it’s linked Since doing the exercises I’ve found relief still have aching/ itchiness in my little ,ring and middle fingers learnt to live with it and still got pain in elbow. It’s really common I believe and they say time is the big healer I find by wearing a support which corrects your posture helps with the back pain I’m taking turmeric and black pepper tablets helps too The exercises I do every day and I’m glad it’s helped you too

I dont use my phone much, but it still used to happen to my hand even though i didnt do the pinky stand thing I got my pinch nerve from resting my elbows on the table (our grandmas were right 😢 dont put your elbow on the table) It was really my computer desk, my work station. No more elbow resting for me

Yes it appears to be common place in getting this thanks to the wonderful IT devices we work with. Yes always telling my kids that saying and they just ignore me lol

Thanks for sharing your experience. How did you handle the guitare practice? did you stop completely for a while, and then restarting progressively?
@PluckinNylon2 жыл бұрын
I still have it now but it’s manageable, with regards to my practice I’ve had to change my guitar strings to medium tension from high and ease up on the rasqeuados and do more pulgar currently contemplating using the nail as a pick trick for picado to rest the tension up . I only suffer with this mildly compared to others and I’m extremely grateful that I can still play I had this six months I’m hoping another 6 and it will go. Gotta keep doing the exercises and wearing my support at night

It's been 10 months has it gotten back to 100%? I know I've had moments where it went back to 100 after weeks of rest but it quickly goes away

I have this problem and it bothering me so hard, thinking that i cant play guitar because of my left pinky cant bend alone starting to lose hope even trying to exercise,stretch,massage it
@PluckinNylon Жыл бұрын
I’d recommend buying the brace for nighttime to allow the nerve to repair also religiously do the glides and wrist stretches. I’ve had it now for well over 12mths now but I’m delighted to say it’s getting better occasional tingle in the ring finger and not so much pain in my elbow Main thing is not to give up it will get better but it I’ll take a lot time

@@PluckinNylon it still possible to play guitar even it didn't go away?

@@PluckinNylon and also is there a glide and wrists stretch tutorial? That i can find on Yt?
@PluckinNylon Жыл бұрын
@@kairu4107 yes there is look for Dr Jo regarding Cubital tunnel syndrome And yes you can still play but limit your practice time no practicing rasqueados or anything repetitive I changed my string tension from hard to medium and that made a difference also play lightly and know when your fingers have had enough

My PCP has been completely apathetic to actually treating my condition it's insane. He diagnosed me and told me to simply quit guitar Edit - this is probably the best video I've come across for a comprehensive what to do about this all
@PluckinNylon2 жыл бұрын
To hear that you must quit guitar must be devastating for you, how did you get it I’m intrigued to know. I’ve done a recap video check it out I can’t recommend enough you get the support with metal plates in not allowing your elbow to bend helps with the nerve healing process when going to sleep

i think i have cts, i can't play guitar or bass anymore, my left fretting fingers has lost dexterity and become clumsy, it's like back to zero again, even basic open chord like from C to Am has been really hard and frustrating
@PluckinNylon2 жыл бұрын
So sorry to hear that, my only advice is one get it checked out by a doctor first carry out these exercises every day especially the glide take some vitamin b6 and also I’m taking turmeric/ginger/black pepper tablets too Nerve damage isn’t good takes ages to heal I’m about 4mths in it’s manageable now but no signs of easing off I even cut my practice down and contemplating going to lighter gauge strings All the best buddy 🤞🏻

I’m sorry to hear this brother yeah once you get it it’s a bitch to get rid of that’s if you can I still have it now but manage it by limiting my playing and my attack, and medium tension gauge

@@morbid.69 sorry to hear your having a tough time my advice do the exercises drink plenty of water,turmeric and black pepper tablets and always stretch. I’m really surprised at the age of 22 you should be ripping up the fret board
