Great List, Cubs! I have a couple of honorable mentions. 1) Focusing on the wrong faction ... A mistake I made early on is not focusing on a solid faction that was easy to farm and would take me far in the game, like Phoenix, Empire, First order, or another faction that's easy to farm in early game. I was already in the 80s, level wise, before I learned that I would've had a much easier time if I had gone for Phoenix first. 2) Not talking to your guild ... A mistake I've made early on simply because I felt like I was too low a level to be useful or didn't want to sound stupid with my questions was keeping silent in guild chat. I've since found that the opposite is true. Talk to your guild mates. They are a valuable source of information. I'm now an officer in my guild, and I have a guild channel I call "Advice Column" where our veteran guild mates can offer up advice for our younger players and younger players can ask questions without fear of sounding stupid.

I think I did all of those. I still don't communicate with my shard because I'm not really interested - at this point - because I'm in the 500-1000 arena shard, and the 130-170 Ship shard. What helped me out was the four pillars philosophy from "Warrior Presents." I was farming every toon early on. I had joined early enough to get Old Finn, Scavenger Rey when they were released and also Fulcrum and RP. I still use that Pillars system of farming, with intervals of gearing and modding my Old Republic squad in order to get Malak. Good pointers.

I'd add to what our Main Man Han says in point 5 -- sometimes it's best to leave toons behind, even when you have the shards/gear to level them up. A lot of the matchmaking mechanics behind Grand Arena and Territory Wars relate to your overall Galactic Power (GP) -- the higher your power, the more formidable your opponent. So, even if you've collected 200 Lobot shards (a toon you'll never use), it can actually be DETRIMENTAL to star him up for the reason that it will artificially increase your GP, and thus you'll be facing stronger opponents whose GP may have been gained by focusing everything into one monster squad you can never beat...even if you throw that 7-star Lobot at him with everything you've got.

I muddled along for about 2.5 years before being invited to a good (Lithuanian) guild. I'm in South Africa, so the times are real close together. They taught me how to play properly, back when NS Deathstorm was still a thing in the Sith raids. The guild closed about a year and half ago, and I've found a cool SA guild that welcomes and helps smaller players. Progressing alright now and never spent a cent. Patience is a virtue. I made just about every mistake you mentioned... Lol

Another thing about #5 is that the more you max out characters you won't use but just kinda got the shards along the way is that it inflates your GP artificially, which makes your matchups in TW and GAC a lot more difficult.

Regarding a few items: 2 - Don't waste a lot of credits on "junk" mods (below 5 stars or or mods with no speed). 10 - It's *always* better to use the crystals to refresh energy and farm a character than to pay the amount in the shipments. If you spend 800 crystals farming someone like Kylo Ren (Unmasked) instead of paying for it in the shipments, you will probably come out with significantly more shards.

I started a guild for me and my nephews who introduced me to the game. We got about 25 random people to join us, but I never really knew what to do with the guild. After a while I merged us with a guild that was part of an alliance and that helped us out big time!

Probably worth noting for newer players that it only matters to join your arena shard discord if you're Top 50 or better in Squad Arena. If you're not, you can't coordinate anyway and the people in charge won't care about you. If you're a really new player and not buying hyperdrive, don't even bother...you'll be shut out of Squad Arena top ranks for the foreseeable future.

I do number 6 every day. My rule from day one has been Clone troopers to Max first. Now I am finally close to having a meta team. 4 year F2P and doing #6 is why I am the closest in my guild to GAS. Following your heart on a faction you love can get you to a F2P Meta team at one point.

In regards to the 600, I think it's important to note that you regularly gain 540 of that 600 naturally in a 24 hr period. So one crystal refresh would be enough to meet the 600. This can be important if you need to use crystals on rare raid gear that doesn't show up enough in the shard or guild shops.

Joining a poor guild was one of mine, they rarely talked and there was poor participation. The leaders would launch a heroic pit raid with no warning and then solo it themselves. Left them and joined a much better guild where I've worked up consistently, I'm at just over 3mil GP and an officer now.

Im in a great guild rn, they just are horrible with the raids they'll start beginner raids and all the super high advanced players will beat it in one go, leaving us less experienced players unable to participate, but they'll start some high tier raid and wont participate at all, and we're stuck going at it for days slowly with our low damage output

I'd also say the reverse of #6 -- don't avoid farming toons because you hate them. I'm not a fan of the prequels and avoided touching most toons involved with those films as a result. Turned out a lot of them are pretty strong, if not required for mid-game/end-game content, resulting in a lot more panic farming.

Mace may be trash as in battle etc, but I agree that he is needed early on more so, for his capital ship. Also not everyone has 100's of dollars/Pounds to spend in game So early doors hes not a bad ton he helped me alot clearing galactic war daily before we could sim. Obviously as u progress in game he becomes obsolete. But he doesnt deserve such a hard time and those of us who did max him, will be glad we did when that day co es and he gets rework lol

MJB 7 Yes. Just be careful and patient. Example, you can refresh Cantina a couple times a day at 100 crystals each. When it goes up to 200, just wait til the next day.

For a very long time, energy refreshes should be your only use for crystals. Example at the beginning of the video he shows that you can buy 16 Kylo Ren Unmasked shards for 1280 crystals, thats 80 crystals per shard, now 1 cantina refresh for 100 crystals gives you 120 energy and it costs 8 to do 1 battle so that gives you 15 attempts, so yeah never buy shards. The only gear worth buying with crystals instead of farming it with energy are the 25 gold gear for 375, some purple gear for 273 (early on), mk3 holo projectors for 300 or 2 for 600. And mk5 stun guns, those are rare you need a shit ton.

Great video man! Personally i've made most of these mistakes, luckily I got a guild with many greate people who teached me and i'm getting better now :D One thing though. As for today, if new players don't buy the Hyperdrice Bundle, they will NEVER BE competitive in arena. They may take a year to get where the HDB players get with it, but in that year the p2w players got ahead so much, there's no way they can catch up with tjemn. It's 1 year of farming shards, 1 year of farming Zetas, 1 year of farming good mods. In GA shouldn't be a problem as the matchmaking is according to the players GP, but in arena ranking it's terriboe por f2p players. I hope CG adresses this :/

Couple of issues... On #8 you didn't explain what the 600 is actually for. It is a guild-wide contribution towards Raids. If no one does their 600, then no one can buy into a new raid when it's available. It's an issue I had early on with the guilds the game sticks you in, after robbing you of all of your previous progression. Not enough people participated so we couldn't get a new raid but once a week or so. Also, with #'s 6 & 5... You should mention that there is a guide that a few people have made of the most optimal characters to farm to work faster at getting legendaries and other good chars as soon as they are available, or soon after. Like working on Phoenix for Thrawn, Jedi for Yoda, Bounty Hunters for Chewie, Ewoks for 3PO, etc, etc. And it's not just that, but it prioritizes which ones to get based on the fact that quite a few of them can be used in more than one event. Like, how Ezra is a Phoenix and a Jedi and can be used in both events. One of the issues I faced is that the hyperdrive Bundle wasn't there when I started and by the time it was it wasn't worth it. I already had most of the characters in the bundle at 3-4 *'s and lvl 50+. I also refuse to pay money in a game for"a chance" to get something and the hyperdrive bundle is actually one of the very few things in the game worth even thinking about spending for. I also learned the hard way that this is the only game I have ever played where your character level doesn't mean shit. For some reason they decided to go backwards where gear > star lvl > char lvl. Instead of most models where gear is usually the afterthought and plays only a small addition to the characters main power thru it's level.

i have a glitch where its happen 1 time on a year in swgoh so it works when u change ur time on ur setting then if u changed it u will immidiately get a arena reward, and fleet reward but remember it only happen ONCE A YEAR

I would also suggest avoiding spending crystals on journey packs (if youre F2P or semi F2P). Youre better off spending crystals on refreshing energies and refreshing battles that contains the shards youre looking for, it gives more guarantee and avoids getting shards you already maxed ur character on.

Hey Cubs (hopefully you see this) I saw your top ten squads and I think palpatine lead is quite underrated, I recently came back to the game and I have a gear 12 palpatine lead that includes Vader, Bastila Fallen, Nihilus and Han Solo and I see my self quite successful with it being able to beat Bugs squads Nightsisters CLS team Bounty Hunters plus some random team. The only teams I can’t beat are Darth and Light Revans and General Skywalker .. give him a try at Full gear 13 relic 7 see if he works for you because he does work for me quite good

I found my arena shardmates a while ago, but since my shard is full of MAW, Team Instinct, and other massive kraken guilds, they directly and unapologetically blocked me from joining the shard chat. Best I can hope to get is #2, because a MAW kraken now intentionally climbs (not at his payout time) and squats at #1 at my payout time. It freaking blows.

Honestly, I think that if you're a new player, spending $100 on a mobile game before you're even level 85 is a big mistake. 1. That's a lot of money for a game you haven't played that long. You might not like it long term. 2. Getting to level 85 and unlocking characters one at a time was really fun. It took awhile, BUT SO DOES EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME! Why take away the part of the game where you're making the most visible progress?

Only mistake I made is farming my favorite characters... fives, Cody, Darth Vader, old ben. I wish we could use whoever we wanted. I don't like the fact that if all of my characters don't have synergy my team will be garbage. But I've played for maybe a month and I'm already lvl 50 and well on my way to 51. This game is fun but sometimes I wish it wasn't such a grind. I know it used to be worst but it's still really challenging to get certain things done

If you got $100,000, then buy everything. If you are f2p, don't bother with game unless you are prepared to spend years (5 years plus) to get to point where you can feel you have 4 or 5 decent squads at gear 10 to 12. F2p, join a stronger guild than you. Be in bottom 1/3 in terms of power. Ask them. Hoard crystals and gear and spend it on legendary toons only. Don't waste gems buying characters. Don't spend more gems/crystals than you gain from dailies Don't waste time on ships (now), they used to be good for crystals but now it's just for zetas The most important thing is, this game is ad free but serious grind fest. It will take years, if you are f2p... 5 years plus... Remember that before you start, and you need to play daily....

biggest mistake I made was farming up bad characters because of GW. Also farming mods with Cantina energy was a huge one. If I hadn't farmed mods I would be working on relics but the several months of farming mods couldve been used to farm characters

You got Reason #1 wrong: It's "spending money." As Ahnald just demonstrated, if you aren't willing to spend $3-600 on Day 1, you will be hopelessly behind and will never have a prayer of being a competitive player. And if you're not going to be competitive as a new player, you're just wasting your time. (Note: This comes from a completely F2P player, who has no desire to be competitive; but I started back when that was a reasonable course of action)

I’ve been playing this game for about 7 weeks now and I am at level 68. The guild I joined has started some raids for those players with 4 stars and above. Not sure how it happened but I am on the third day of my first territory battle. I thought I had to be at level 85. I guess I’m doing okay so far.

Get one character to 7 stars, it’s easiest to do either someone with cantina shards or someone in the galactic war store, it takes some time but the payoff is huge. Alternatively you should join starter guilds, they’ll always do raids that are your level and you’ll be with people around the same rank but don’t stay in them for too long cause overall they’re really shitty

Spending crystals on Sion and Nihilus shards are okay, right? Im a level 83 that is working to get Sion for my Squad Arena, and I already got Nihilus to 5*. However, it takes really powerful squads to farm these characters in Hard Battles, at least to me.

I remember watching these when I was still a new player. Biggest advice I would want younger me to know is DONT BUY PACKS and FARM PHOENIX. I don’t care if you don’t want to you just have to or you’re going to go twice as slow as the guy who did farm them early on!
