Thank you for the kind words. Mexico has some beautiful music and dances that should be exposed to the world, and taught to the younger generations.

This is an international folk dance done by hundreds of recreational folk dancers,, for about fifty years through out the world. It is not a folklorico dance. Most should be proud that their music has been the framework for worldwide dancers. We also do a folkloric versions of this and many other dances. You will see this is a well viewed clip and enjoyed by many. Many songs are like this as they make their way around the world, and are integrated into other dances such as line dancing, clogging, and a host of other dance worlds.

We dance this during our high school in the philippines. We dance this using the steps written in our book. Our interpretation is different from the actual. Haha
Thank you sharing such a beautiful story from your childhood.

Like European style of dances. Does Mexico have dances to honor their Native American ancestry too? Or just one tribe of the Aztecs out or many to honor their Native American ancestry?

You are right this is from the world of International folk dance tht existed for over 50 years around the world. Good sogs were picked and a dance routine was made for it. Much like clogging and line dancing is today.

In Kindergarten NYC we went to Carl Schurz Park to do the Mexican Hat dance. 1960/1961. I am from the East 80s, (Germantown) Manhattan. WTH was I doing the Mexican Hat dance???!!!
@mecatx2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the question is. The Mexican hat Dance is generally the Jarabe Tapatio, and some will also call La Raspa, the ht dance. This the music to a song of the revolutions. with dance choreography from teh International Folk Dance world. Hope this helps
