You made me buy this Cuckoo, and thank you so much for that, it's a joy to use ! I never had the courage to finish a track in 30 years of casual synth playing. With this thing I really have a simple tool to learn how to compose from A to Z. There is a learning curve of course but it's not discouraging thanks to the genuine fun it embeds.
@zoned76092 жыл бұрын
30 years is no longer casual my friend. the hardest thing is committing by saying to the world "this song represents me" but you can get around that by saying "this song only represents a tiny piece of me" and not putting so much pressure on yourself to be a genius

If I would have watched this video 4 months ago when I got the Cycles I would have been still lost, but owning it for a while… plus the Samples/Tone/Takt, I now understand how to do 90 percent of what was mentioned in this video. I’m not bragging, it just feels good to finally be picking up on the Elektron workflow. So with that said I enjoyed watching this and picked up a few tricks. Much appreciated!

Amazing Cuckoo. Thank you for this. Not sure if I missed you doing the same but there's a guy on here called Arthur Fauveau doing a cover of Ageispolis by aphex twin. Instead of using half step to increase length, he uses two patterns playing at once which is pretty cool! He just holds down 'pattern' and presses which ever patterns he wants to play through. They just cycle sequentially.

@@truecuckoo bro I swear I love your space... I totally feel your trip. I'm doing same at home, I've created a special place for creation and this is the center of my living room because I want this to be the center of my home. It's too important in my life... Btw, lot of sounds in this video remind me VectorMan on MegaDrive (other games too like Sonic of course...) I was thinking, do you extract midi files from game roms or something?? I would like SO MUCH to make or watch a whole subject about all consoles synthesizers, this is a such an interesting subject... I'm also dreaming about machines or synths fully based on consoles synths/sound chipsets... how do you think this compares to the digitone? there's something about the appearance of this device that makes it seems o much more approachable than the digitone. also you look like hipster hagrid in this video and i'm into it
@warpigs3302 жыл бұрын
I have both and this is certainly more approachable than digitone. With digitone you kinda have to have some understanding of the basics of FM synthesis. With this you really don't. Each algorithm feels like it's own thing with each of the controls having a pretty understandable impact on the sound.

Great stuff. I've got a Digitone and haven't really felt the need for one of these, but you're making me feel the need for one of these :/ Are they more instant? More fun? Or is there no need for both in your opinion?
@mosonic2 жыл бұрын
You don't need a Cycles if you own a Digitone. The Digitone is more flexible, but more complicated to learn. The Cycles is nice, but I sold mine because somehow I feel you get to similiar sounds overall from the device. The chords function is special, that's to me the only thing I miss.
