This is is a surprisingly great video, really good lucid descriptions of some very specific stuff. I love those moments where cool sounds comes out and you can't help yourself- like the hyper-chiptune arp chords. It's all really getting the joy of the clever design of the Nerdseq across, too. I wasn't planning on sitting here for an hour watching this, but it was an entertaining and companionable tour around the foothills of Nerdseq- fantastic work

At 51:00 for anyone confused why 06 is playing what sound like weird little glitches on track 1.. Those are the values he put in on channel 3 which was Pattern 06. A pattern is not exclusive to any one track. It can be put on any track and those values will send to their corresponding outputs. Something to keep in mind for anyone new to trackers as that can easily get you hung up. A common organizational strategy when going about laying out tracks is using patterns 10 through 1F on Track 1, 20 through 2F on Track 2, 30 through 3F on Track 3, and so on... I typically use 00 through 0F as my blank canvas to sketch ideas.

The buttons are so satisfying to press. Nice and bouncy. I think of it as Ableton session view in the rack. Just tracker style. Got a screen showing all the “clips” Then click on a clip and edit/creat it. No tiny screen trying to figure out how to make larger patterns etc U can easily name and color stuff Copy and paste Modular techno sequencing made easy !

Thank you for this. Many people have been raving about the Nerdseq but I was always turned off by the lack of cv outs per track without the expansion modules. However seeing how it is a Midi to CV converter AND sample player, you can really use this turn your modular into a complete DAW. Very impressive and you just sold me on it!

Hi Cuckoo, Really inspired by your channel! I picked up the OP-1 some time ago and and really inspired by it. I am looking to build a Eurorack setup to compliment, but I am having trouble figuring out how to interface it and get the OP-1 to speak together. Basically, I would love to keep the OP-1 as the workstation with its tape mode, sequencers and samplers. But I would love the flexibility of being able to feed the output from the OP-1 into the Eurorack , mess around and then feed the output from the eurorack back into the OP-1 for sampling, recording, etc. but then flexibility. Additionally I would like to have the OP-1 control the eurorack via MIDI and be able to switch around between these paths on the fly. I am trying to keep costs a bit down also mainly since I haven't really found an interface module I can see sorting it out, so what I have landed on currently is the 4ms Listen I/O for line in and outputs and then the Doepfer A-190-3 for MIDI connection, but I am unsure if it does the trick. The Oplab for the OP-1 is discontinued, so I can't use that. Any advice would be really appreciated and would love to see a video where you combine eurorack and the OP-1 Many thanks, Niels

I'm a Nedseq obsessive, currently working on a 2nd mini album over the next few days I have off work. Thomas Margolf of Xor has completely outdone himself in creating, designing and updating this one it is.... seriously (just after octatrack and in some ways BETTER than octa) along with the rest of my rig has made me feel like I've been free from DAW land and like almost TRULY making the kinda music I want outside of a computer but still as powerful and freeing in terms of possibilities ...but I AM a tracker head I guess used to make music with Jeskola buzz for wayyyy too many years before I started using daws.... so it was kinda like homecoming too :) any way I think I made my point, this is not just a eurorack module, though it is a GREAT eurorack module, it's a truly powerful and easy to use MIDI sequencer ....um that "thing" that Faith no more was talking about? WHAt IS it? THIS is it!!! Yeah I'm obsessed. Thanks Cockoo you rule!!! :)

Much like LittleGPTracker. So powerful with the tables and commands. But it is a bit of a fiddle to program with a gamepad layout. If you want a nice portable version you can hack a PSP and load LittleGPTracker on that....but no midi i/o on the PSP. There is also a raspberry pi version of LittleGPTracker with MIDI. Gratz on the 100k subs.

What’s the pros/cons running this vs renoise with midi to cv to eurorack?
@_skysick_
@_skysick_ 4 жыл бұрын
renoise has a pc interface and doesn't take up space in your rack, but you'll need a robust midi-to-cv box and it lacks the immediacy of a physical module in youur rack nerdseq directly interfaces with your rack with no distracting converters, but the interface is what it is, and it's a decent investment of space and money.

@@HenricWallmark Sure thing. If you do end up going the midi control direction, check out the CV.OCD. It's a midi module with a decent amount of CV and Gate out, isn't too expensive, and is a desktop box so it won't take space in your rack.

The sequencer gap.....Akai MPC1000 with JJos2XL and 128gb stoarge still widely regarded as best hardware sequencer for live use in 2019, and prices are rising. Iconic sampler included ;) While the MPC1000 has alot of videos, no really good reviews of the device in 2019 with the highly evolved JJOS. If nothing else the Akai has to be regarded as a benchmark in hardware sequencing, which digitackt, blackbox, deluge and this device maybe should be measured against. MPC 1000 is apparently great with CV also, with 4 outs. Here is something recent: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hH-QaoBqqM6qnMk
