@@NativeAnimals Hello from UK - I never knew there was so many types of Cuckoo's around the world, and wondered about them only because my Grand parents had an original Swiss "Cuckoo clock" and obviously I assumed they were a breed bird from Switzerland that made a the cu-koo sound. Years later, I learnt about their unusual nature of laying eggs in other occupied nests to be hatched by that nests builder along with the other birds eggs - Do you know if all Cuckoo birds do this laying of eggs in another birds nest or is it only the Cuckoo's call that makes them a Cuckoo breed and not the birds breeding behaviour aswell ? - Just food for thought - Lol

@@jimmydocndog2 Thankyou very much for sharing your experience! All cuckoos are nest parasites and have similar behaviour. However, egg shape and colour may differ depending on species, and they identify their hosts to mimic their eggs.

@@NativeAnimals Wow, now that is a covert tactic, it kinda makes me wonder about our Hospital nurse.. if she was a Cuckoo and swapped him ? It would explain why he's always on mobile chatting with both thumbs going at speed... instead of just "talking" as we did 🤔 - 😁😆 Kids today are a strange breed, but I guess that's just evolution for ya ! 🤣 Thanks 4 reply, U take care Bud

I have heard some of these cuckoo bird calls(asian koel sounds excluded) in green areas, but could never spot anything other than asian koel. Excellent work you have done.

Hodsgon horsefield cuckoos are very rare in India only found in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. There are only one specimen of this bird which is found in whole India. Am I right.
@NativeAnimals4 жыл бұрын
Thankyou, yes, they are very rare. Horsefield's Bronze Cuckoo are common in Australia & South East Asia, in India they are found in Nicobar Islands. Hodgson's hawk-cuckoo, also known as the whistling hawk-cuckoo is found in North East India.
