Cucumber | 09 | Data-driven testing | Sending Data via Data Table | With Examples keyword|Tamil

We have numerous ways to send data to step definition file. The data table is one among the ways to send data to the code. In this video, we are going to use a simple data table to send the values from the feature file. In the previous video, we have used the data table with the header, but this one will be using the header as well as the Examples keyword for the data table.

Hi, At 8.30 you said , the given ,when,then got executed for both sets of data provided in the data table with examples. And this happens only when scenario outline is used. But in the previous videos of data table with/without header we have used scenario only....so if we want to pass more than one set of data then even there we need to use scenario outline?? Hi Ji, i have tired hands on data provider without header but am getting error "io.cucumber.datatable.UndefinedDataTableTypeException: Can't convert DataTable to List.", can you please advice do i need to refer different version jar file in POM.xml? because i have used the same program from your video.

I assumed cucumber will be very difficult to learn but you made it very simple. But i have some clarification. Am not sure this is valid qstn as you stated do not expect comparing with others tools. My qstns is how to control the execution like sanity,smoke, regression, feature related test cases because in TestNG we have option groups so that we can drive the execution but how this can be done on cucumber ? And can we extent reports in cucumber as well ?

There are no universal beat suited framework Sathish. It depends on how often you test, how many test cases you have and the nature of the application and the nature of the test cases etc. Start automating and eventually you will figure out what's the best way to automate the application with less or reusable code. That's how framework are built

Refer regular expression syntax as per the cucumber version jar u are using from official site. The one I'm using is order one.
