if you noticed, the mics didn't pick up the trash cans so it stands to reason that the crowd would not be audible either. the stage mics are pointing awsy from the audience as well. To contradict myself though, the leader had to solicit the crowds involvement twice. Great performers, not so great crowd.

Sometime the mics are set up to get better sound from the band, but to do that you cut out most of the sound from the crowd. They probably are cheering, we just can't hear them very well.

Steve had me hooked the first time l saw him. He has chops, understands the music, and is a killer showman. My only claim, besides being a Vic Firth student in the early '60's, was doing gigs with North Carolina Symphony, the old Mobile Symphony, LA studio drummer, and Roger Williams' tour drummer. l have long since "retired", if there is such a thing. Steve is a true monster. Applause!
