I've made several of these now. I always come back to this video to remind myself how you did it and also because, by now, it kinda feels like we're sewing together, lol. The one I made today is leopard print on one side and cheetah print on the other (my daughter picked out her favorite fabrics for it). Turned out to be the CUTEST I've made so far. Anyway, thanks for all you teach the rest of us. Best to you & your piggies!

Really excited to try this. Just made 2nd GP fleece liner & pads -w/walking foot this time - Worked like a dream, nice and smooth I absolutely love how you complete the project here Yes it looks difficult to sew that final seam but I LOVE the finish it gives . Will be quite a challenge but will be watching this again step by step I have the uhaul & fleece but didn't realize I needed the batting. When I pick that up I look forward to attempting to tackle this for one of our buns I'll make one for our dutch as well if our little girls works out - Love Your detail really precise & thorough explanations answering would be questions as you go; really makes these doable. Hope my final hand stitch seam comes out as well matched as yours did Love it if you could mention tension & stitches in your vids. I know it's a completely noob question, but I am. I have an old brother machine - 2 knobs tension 0-9 & stitch 1-14 - 2 3 4 5 being zigzag. I'm using 4 tension 3 stitch - anything other that I should be using? Thanks for the education! It's a really fun stress reliever as I can forgive myself knowing I'm learning, it's for the animals, and it doesn't have to be perfection to look & work great. Soo much fun thanks!
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
You dont need batting... Its just what I use to make the cuddle cups more comfy and stabilized. As for tension every machine is different. My machine automatically adjusts it for me, so you may have to experiment with what tension works best for you. On by old machine I had it inbetween 3 and 4 but that does not mean it will be the same for your sewing machine. And the more you practice the better you will get, just be patient and it will work out. :D Thank you!

I have a singer tradition machine , can sew that with my machine? What kind of needle you recommend ?
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
You can try, I cannot say for sure because I have never used a Singer tradition model, you may need to use less layers. I recommend using denim sewing needles, the link for those are in the video description. :)

36.5 inchs long by 6 inchs wide,i measured this out and yours looks wider than these measures,have you gave the wrong width,it looks way wider than 6inch
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
They are the correct measurements... You can also use whatever measurements work for you... I like my cuddle cups to be around 5 to 4 inches tall when finished, so cutting 6 inches allows for plenty of seam allowance for me. but do what works for you. :)

@@GuineaPiggiesDesigns ah phew i thought i did something wrong,thank you

Dawn, I totally agree. I made this using the 6 inch measurement and it is much shorter than Britney’s. When you look at her cutting board in the beginning it shows her strips to be 9 1/2 inches wide. I literally took a screenshot so that I could count the squares.

@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use towels! :)
@dalegarnett73984 жыл бұрын
Do you have to have two layers of uhaul padding or is one sufficient along with the actual fleece.
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
I use two layers.... just know fleece absorbs nothing so if you only use 1 layer of u haul you would just have to switch out your pad or liner a couple times a day in order for your animals to stay dry.... Using two layers allows more time between washes.

What is the use of bamboo batting?
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns5 жыл бұрын
It adds more comfort and more protection... But not a must... You can could for sure make this without it. :)
@bobbyjoe63654 жыл бұрын
What exactly does the bamboo batting do, do I need it to make this?
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
The Bamboo batting helps absorb liquid and provides comfort, you dont need to use it... I no longer use it anymore but it just provides a little more protection.

@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Well if quality and comfort is not a big deal to you then batting doesnt matter.... Its important to me because it keeps my cuddle cups stabilized and provides comfort... So if you want a quality item use the batting... :)

I just finished making this cuddle cup. It didn’t come out as perfect, but I just learned how to sew 2 weeks ago. Your tutorials are very easy to follow. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without all of the details. I did try using foam instead of the batting for the sides and the bottom and it came out alright. My potty pads came out like ovals so I may have to redo them. I swear I cut them into perfect circles. Something happens to them when they get into that sewing machine 😆😂😭😁 Thank you for the help. Is it alright if I tag this video to my Facebook?
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
You just gotta follow your seam when you sew around a circle, do not look at your needle when you sew, look at your seam allowance and that should allow you to sew a perfect circle, and also that only works if you cut out a perfect circle.... :D
@tamairrabunge42703 жыл бұрын
Hi. How do you sew so many layers? I have a singer simple and it won’t feed my fabric. Do you use a walking foot?
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I use a heavy duty machine, not all sewing machines can sew through many layers, My machine has a double accu feed on it and I also use denim needles, link is in the description. :) but your machine might not be capable of sewing through so many layers, if you are looking for a heavy duty machine I recommend the singer heavy duty, link for that is in the description. :)
@lauren57444 жыл бұрын
Are you sure the dimensions for the long pieces are 36.5 by 6 inches? Yours looks a lot bigger than mine
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
If thats what I said in the video then thats what it is but its easy to figure out if you use the circumference formula which is Pie x the diameter of your circle.... So the diameter is what your circle measures straight across... Thats how you can figure out your own measurements if mine are not working for you because everyone sews differently....
@jamiesbreed4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 6 inches is throwing me off 😆😂😭😁
@GuineaPiggiesDesigns4 жыл бұрын
@@jamiesbreed Well again you can calculate your own measurements... I think the 6 inches is how tall I make the cuddle cup....so the strip will be 6 inches wide and at the end the height of your cuddle cup should be 5 inches after its sewn together... But again if this is too confusing... use the circumference formula and figure out what measurements work best for you.... The best way to understand this, is through trial and error... So sew the cuddle cup... if it comes out wonky then it will help you to understand what went wrong... I mean thats how I figured it out... But do what works best for you. :)
@jamiesbreed4 жыл бұрын
@Guinea Piggies Designs The 36.5 x 6 inch piece looked small when I did it. So I used a 36.5 x 9 inch piece and figured I could cut it down if it started to look too big. My hands must be baseball mitts compared to yours 😳cause my hand from bottom of palm to middle fingertip is 8 inches 🤣 And when you lay your hand down on that piece, you have a lot of room. (My husband said I do have big hands for a short girl 😳😒🤣) And you be workin it wit them pretty nails!!! 😍

My sewing machine kept getting jammed because it's too thick. I don't think my machine is built to sew through layers on top of layers. Maybe I need to have a Janome like hers.
