This knife makes total sense if you see it through the eyes of a old timer. The steel makes total sense because the old timers did not give two shits about super steels and the price makes total sense because old timers did not care enough about knives to pay the astronomical prices we pay today. The old timers would buy a knife like this and use it for at least 40 years always sharpening the knife on cheap stones. No need for fancy locks, fancy clips or fancy one hand operation.

Yep. Knives are too fucking expensive nowadays! You know what they say- there's a super steel fan born every minute.

i subscribed to your channel bc for some ridiculous reason i like to spend money on knives ill never use. I just bought this exact knife (havent received it yet) knowing full well that ill probably like it, never use it and treat it like absolute dog shit if ever do. Not sure why im writing this , probably bc im procrastinating on studying the stock market course i paid a shit ton of money on. In fact i shouldnt of even of bought the fucking course bc i make terrible decisions when it comes to buying pieces of sharp metal attached to some sort of rounded material. any to the ways keep up the good work your my favorite youtuber at the moment and also i own a benchmade mini grip which i use for construction work and its held up pretty well, probably because ive decided to try and treat it like a knife not like a sharpened piece of rebar i found in the alley behind my old high school i let you know how well i havent used the cudeman once i get it

The Cudeman looks like it is made in the same factory as the Spanish “olive wood Joker knives” on Amazon. (Search without “olive wood” and you get the “Joker Why so serious? knife.”) I got one and it’s exactly as you describe the Cudeman, only with a more traditional shape and some additional finishing details. It also comes in this goofy box with the logo of a Joker (who looks happy to be in the circus), with the sun setting dramatically behind a 9 point buck in the background (consistent with their “sporting cutlery” branding). The box is just so weird... but that’s what you get when you go looking for olive wood knives on Amazon.

You’ve got a 12-17 here. You convinced me to get a pm2. It’s great for fidgeting but would be a good replacement for spinners should they be allowed in schools. I’m curious to know two things- the aperture you shoot your close ups at and can I use my external camera mic to record voiceovers? Do you set your mic levels manually?
@AdvancedKnifeBro
@AdvancedKnifeBro 6 жыл бұрын
My voiceovers are accomplished at my computer desk with a professional XLR podium mic (Shure MX 418), with my mouth no more than 8-12 inches away. I use an M Audio XLR interface. I do voicevers because I can read from a script and not use a lot of fillers words... plus I have a hard time remembering what to say. If you want good audio you need either a lavalier mic or record into a professional mic. Camera mics suck. Aperture. I have three lenses I use. A Nikkor 50mm 1.4, a SLR magic 25mm .95, and a 10.5mm .95 Voightlander. My frame rate is always set to 24, my shutter speed to 1/50 (1/48 would work too), and my iris is set to 1.4-2.8. I use a Tiffen 77mm variable neutral density filter to keep my aperture set wide. I use adapters to easily swap it back and forth between my three lenses. When I see my EF meter moving away from zero I just twist my ND filter to get it back in the middle. Sometimes I overlook that though and I'll get some under exposed and over exposed shots. Hope this helps.

Advanced Knife Bro thanks dude. I’m on a low budget but have a canon 80d with a 18-135 mm and an old 100-300 mm telephoto. I have the kit videomic somethingorother. Does 24 FPS actually look more cinematic, and is it that important to get a shutter speed 2x the frame rate? I know it gets that movie sorta motion blur going but I haven’t experimented too much

Two things... the last few days I have been recording my voiceovers on a different computer and two different mics. Also I was using a shure USB XLR interface. I think it was mainly my gain levels that were different. Plus I'm still getting over this cold I've had for over 2 weeks now, so my voice is a bit scratchy. I have recorded voiceovers in the past on a different computer and different mics... but not with the shure USB interface. Wow... TMI I think.

I don't share your opinion, that you should have a plastic handle if you're not a fish. Wood is the best material for knife handles in the world. Let me explain, how you preserve wood easily and last it (nearly) forever, if you treat it right. Due to the fact the edge of your knife needs to be sharpened sometimes, it is not really too much effort to take care of the handle as well. All you need is a good 'hardening' oil like linseed- or tungoil. For a very good experience you may mix oil with bee- and/or carnaubawax and get a perfect balm: rub it gently into the wood and apply it on the mechanics: you will never get into trouble with water and it will open and close smoothly . If you've cleaned your knife with soapy water, just give it a wipe with the mixture after drying. You seem to be a great fan of stainless steel blades, too. Let me have a word about that, too; knife is a tool which needs some attention, and I really love knives. I build them on my own and carbon steel is easier to sharpen and the edge is much sharper, the best blades are made of a mixture and inlays of different steel types - damast or even better wootz steel - which is very hard to create - but the strength of these knives is unbelievable. Just do me a favour and try the oil - if it works like I told you here, try to rub some bees wax into the surface of the wood. You will be amazed by the different feeling, when you touch the knife. Thanks for the review, I really appreciate that you like European knives - maybe you should try out some German knives from the city Solingen...

For future endeavors into knife denominations or other language debacles I suggest what western medicine did: raise from the dead an ancient language that no one remembers how to pronounce and start naming every knife with it while creating an international catalog. This work is guaranteed to bring one’s name to either the annals of history or to annals of ridicule. At lest it seems a good way to kill time. For sure better than developing carpal tunnel writing nonsensical comments on KZbin. 😝🤣😂😋
