Great knives and the sheaths are old world true craft you can't beat

Read somewhere that the two holes can be used to attach the knife to a stick to make a spear
@BryceBower3 жыл бұрын
The hole in front is for lashing with the lanyard hole to make a spear. So there is a use for that hole.
@AlexVBucur8 жыл бұрын
Hello. Didn't read all the comments, about the hole in the front you can used the knive as a spear so you can tie it up in paracord.
@FlintandSteelSurvival8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would do that as a last resort I carry better knives to do that with in my kit! Thanks sir! I appreciate the feedback!

Question... have you thot about going to a gun & knife show and have a nice kydex sheath made for it? Just a suggestion.
@FlintandSteelSurvival2 ай бұрын
Great suggestion! In the 8 years since posting this video I've actually learned to make my own sheath's and have made a few since then. This one is still in the original though turns out I really like the sheath.

The second hole is so that you can attach it to a stick and use it as a spear.

@Flint and Steel Survival: I too found the MT-5 sheath lacking. I have an L.T. Wright Genesis also. I discovered that the MT-5 fit perfectly in the Genesis sheath which is the pouch type that I do prefer. I ordered the Genesis sheath from L.T. Wright and I now have a great knife in a great sheath that look as though they were made for each other.

This is a great video !! Lots of info on this beauty . I just bought the MT-5U . Any idea of what and why there is a “ U “ added to the model number ?? I didn’t receive the knife yet but it seems to be exactly like yours . I did a little research and found nothing about the difference- if any . Let me know if you know anything about that . Stay well 🤠
@FlintandSteelSurvival4 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not I do know what that means! Battlebox made a run of special ones with high visibility liners. Also it doesn't have that second hole above the guard.
@tubes51504 жыл бұрын
Thank you ... I did notice the hole missing in the “ U “. I was also wondering if they both have the 90 degree spine . In the description for the “ U “ it says “ sharp 90 degree “. But no mention in the MT-5 . Thanks again🤠

I just got this knife.The fit and finish is very impressive, same on the sheath-mine even has red stitching.Have no idea how good it keeps an edge.The blade was way too polished.I paid 103$ for it and never seen a knife so good looking.It is on the heavy side but the handle is extremely comfortable.

Cool knife, man. FWIW, I reckon that the "mystery hole" in the ricasso is actually a secondary lanyard hole. I seem to recall seeing some other vids featuring European users who utilize both lanyard holes while using the blade.

Can you strike a ferro and get good sparks.Stainless steel usually can't,usually carbon steel.Great blade,I'm tempted,and the price tag is very reasonable.I can't see paying over $160 for a Bark River knife when the Cudeman,is much the same type blade and quality for $100 =- less cost.
@FlintandSteelSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Russell Suender Does a great job striking a Ferro rod! Right above the jimping on the spine is plenty sharp!

you going to use it ?? or just keep it the box ??? I generally dont watch any knife reviews unless the guy reviewing it has field tested it fr at least a year... any decent knife can look good coming outta the box....

@@baroneb5043 I've had a bunch of fixed blades come and go but this one will never leave. It's got my full endorsement. Fills the hand well, keeps an edge, easy to clean up, good blade length for basically anything.

Hey buddy, nice knife and channel. Subbed. In regard to your question about the Hardcore Hardwear very difficult for me to give you an answer on the pricing as the Australian Dollar is sitting at 72 us cents at the moment. Anyway if you like checkout their website they have knives, tomahawks & pens. Respect from Melbourne take care

Thanks for the kind words my friend! I just wondered because some US companies jack up their prices for people out of the country I just wondered if hardcore hardware did it like that! They make some cool stuff though! I subbed you when cheap survival did your unboxing! I'll check your channel out today!

The extra hole is to tether it to a stick for maybe (frog Giging)
@Yiannis21124 жыл бұрын
I wonder how many of us are really ever going to tie it to a stick to make a spear, as many Rambo morons suggested the two holes are for...Those holes are to tie a paracord line from front to back. A knot at the front and another at the back, to secure your hammer grip. You pass your palm through, between the handle and the paracord. The knife stays secure in your hand and it won't fall even if you open your palm. A much more realistic use...
