When I was at Uni, '84-87, and in the Rock Society, they were one of the society leader/president's favourites as well as mine so we had a lot of trips organised and saw them quite a few times... then luckily, after I left, though they were still a 'big name' with rock being on the decline, they tended to play smaller venues and at least twice played my local Guildhall... then my wife and I saw them do their 25th Anniversary of *Storyteller's Night* in London (half of the gig being playing the album - my favourite - in full), which they filmed and put on DVD... which I must get!

You REALLY should have picked up that Quatermass set...every remaining episode from the classic BBC serials from the 1950s. Absolutely classic genre TV.

Hi Pauly, another great Blu-ray hunt this week and I got the Inglorious Basterds 4k set from arrow video this week as only had the standard release before. I never heard of Magnum before until you talked about them only the lovely ice creams lol.

It was a new release on 4k on Monday but I think it was previously released as a 4k limited boxset

I just couldn’t buy the Bel Air or that other TV show on Blu-Ray for just over £40. I can’t imagine many would risk buying that. The Inglorious Basterds Blu-Ray Arrow box set looks nice, but it is the only major Tarantino film I haven’t seen. Never seen Time Bandits, though my brothers have and they love it, Pauly.

Yep; I know Paul prefers the gloss and very much assumes we all consider them better, but that's certainly not the same for everyone... plus of course, now they won't match which is another frustration!

Great Magnum Vinyl. I only have the album 'On a Story tellers Night' CD found it in a charity shop. It doesn't have a lyric book which is why I haven't listened to it yet. One song that i like from them is ' Too many Clowns'. Are you planning on getting the new Helloween Blu ray live at Budakan?

As far as DVDs many times they offer even better picture than streaming especially on older stuff or movies that were never released on anything else (and stream versions seem to be based on the same source as DVD).

I did buy one of those record player/CD player/radio all-in-one things recently so I can now play my LPs again. First one I played was Rod Stewart's 'Never a Dull Moment' album, The Partidge Family, and a couple of Morecambe & Wise comedy LPs. Still to get round to my Billy Joel collection though (partly because I know there's loads of him on KZbin).
