Oh I’m thrilled you enjoyed it. Don’t miss the live videos where I answer questions as I give my best advice for people moving there, which includes not buying property for at least a year and don’t sign a lease. Most people don’t stay where they started and that’s normal. You want to give yourself flexibility to explore. And if you need help with anything I’ve included Andrés WhatsApp number ( essential app you need to download) as he’s a national guide and the source of all my Ecuador information.

@ayngelina2 жыл бұрын

Ayngelina, you have once again put together informative and beautiful footage. You may already have this planned, however do you have additional video you can piece together to provide separate episodes for Gualaceo, Chordeleg, and Sigsig? Also, do you know what the ingredients are in Guarapo? Did you by chance film this person preparing the drink from start to finish? Thanks for continuing to enhance our knowledge of Ecuador.
@ayngelina2 жыл бұрын
So I do plan to have a video just on Gualaceo because I think it should be a UNESCO heritage site for food. Also I've been there so many times to eat. For the other two spots I haven't as I think I may have maxed out on what things I find interesting about both villages.

The Panama hats do they offer UV OR SPF protection from the sun!? I traveled to Bolivia many years ago, and got a severe sunburn on my head. I would be interested in possible purchasing one of these hats if they offer sun protection!. 👍
@ayngelina2 жыл бұрын
Yes they do! You'd want a tight weave, which costs more but this is why they were first sent to Panama for workers building the canal - the sun was so harsh and they needed something to protect them.

Super nice trip. Are there buses that can take folks to theses areas? Thanks!
@ayngelina2 жыл бұрын
There are buses to the villages but you couldn't do it in a day. And it could be complicated with timing for places like Chobshi, the Panama Hat cooperatives and the Makana museum. If you're in Cuenca for a long time I'd do one village a day. Otherwise a tour is the best way to go, particularly if you don't speak Spanish.

Wow I am taking this as a compliment that you think I pronounce some words perfectly! I am actually Canadian! I am third generation Irish Italian that grew up in Nova Scotia. That said, Andres does really try to correct my pronunciation but he wasn't there when I shot that clip so part of it was not knowing how to pronounce it and I forgot the name. Actually I did take a DNA test because I felt like I have the same body type as many Latinas, but sadly it came back as boring old European roots.
