My brother in law had to give up the circuit work and go back to being “just” an elder. He blames my sister because she has been diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s. Selfish, narsasistic a$$ he is. It’s about power and position for him. It was horrible when he shunned his kids then grandkids, now his wife is becoming disposable. The term ravines wolf comes to mind.

Sounds like he may have fallen out of love with her soon after they had sex/got married but got stuck in a bitter loveless marriage; and it's been eating away at him for literally decades. So i'm not surprised he doesn't care about her, she's just someone he's stuck with. Plus even if he wasn't a self-centered narcissist to begin with, being a JW elder would turn him into one (same as it does in all misogynist authoritarian religions). Because power corrupts. He ~may~ be a good person deep down, but as long as he's a JW, he won't be.

This is what really makes me angry: I undertook the task of studying the bible in the true scholarly environment of universities: I see these guys with no knowledge at all pretending to go around to teach the Bible. Meditate on the Bible personally and individually and finding passages of personal encouragement and comfort, I am fine with it, like writing of Buddha can comfort me and give me wisdom, etc. But teaching the Bible you need proper education, like I go around saying I can cure your illness because I am the best doctor, when I never took even the basic course in medicine. They claim to be professional biblical teachers and scholars without any scholar foundation.

I went to “pioneer school” thinking it would be in depth Bible education but it turned out to be further cult rule indoctrination. Everyone came away saying “what a great pioneer school” I came away thinking “did we go to the same thing?” I couldn’t understand what they were raving about - we learned nothing.

Amen! I was talking to a jw last week and she accused me of being satan because I worship Jesus and not "jehovah". I told her I also worship God the Father. But she stopped talking to me. I don't understand why she said that about me.🤔 I pray everyday that the Father wakes up the jw to the Light of Jesus. God bless!

The abolition of COs makes sense if you look at it from the point of view of the organisation's monitoring policy. This would mean appointing local elders as overseers within the congregation who would then communicate directly with the branch. This leads to a considerable reduction in costs and at the same time to a more efficient detection of potential "apostates". Two birds with one stone.

Something strange I experienced after JW carts returned after COVID. Of all the carts I met in the corners, they were only women by the carts not one man. why? I am talking at least of 20 to 25 carts. The same thing when I went to Northern Japan; Only one cart attended only by women.
