I love thic comic for showing the lonely folk's point of view before joining the Cult. I indeed never thought about the fact that the Lamb saving a mortal from Bishop cultists must be a terrifying scene for the mortal, being saved by this absolute beast of a soon-to-be God of Death. No wonder they beg for mercy and swear obedience before joining the Cult!

honestly they keep pushing the cult "spooky" angle, but considering how awful the world is in this setting the lamb's cult is really not bad at all... the lamb isnt even manipulating them like real cult leaders, they are an actual literal god

Even if you play as nicely as you possibly can in game, they still die to old age and stuff. Trying to use followers burying people far away just does not bring the proper spook factor. This is just normal sanitary stuff. Make them butcher them for meat or something if you want spooky.

I haven't played the game, but from what the comic tells me is this: Characters who start to believe in The Lamb have their eyes changed to vertical rectangles to be similar to the Lamb's horizontal rectangle. The Beast is a nickname given by other creatures of the island about The Lamb, due to their brutality and how relentless they are on their missions. The Lamb's homebase only ever appears bright and happy to the outside, but if you ever pay attention to the details on the outside it becomes pretty apparent that the place is likely being mindcontrolled to a certain degree.

Well, the base thing kinda depends on the player. You can use mind control, but it's an optional thing. And how the Followers are treated largely relies on the player. You can be a benevolent, compassionate cult leader who treats everyone (who isn't an enemy) with love and respect. Or you can be a cruel sadistic leader who rules the followers with fear and manipulation.

As someone who has played the game, here's what I can tell you: 1.The two main characters have rectangular eyes since the beginning, it's just a stylistic choice rather than an indicator of followship. Not to mention Lamb's eyes are sideways rectangles. You know, like a lamb. 2. Only 3 creatures in-game refer to Lamb as Beast, however since none of the regular enemies talk other than during cutscenes that don't refer to Lamb directly, them acknowledging Lamb as such isn't outside the realm of possibility. 3. As for making the base, you as the Lamb can really make your base however you want, and it's more of a leadership thing than actual mind control. You still have to make sure everyone is happy and fed, otherwise they'll revolt, although there is a mind control ritual to (temporarily) stop their faith from lowering. 3.5. I assume the third part is due to the corpses at the end, but in reality it's just good base setup to put the graves as far away from the main camp as possible, as followers can die of natural causes and living ones can freak out at the sight of the bodies.

Every time I see the sacrificial pit or the the hole of bodies in cult of the lamb I just keep imagining the lamb as sacrificing the sick or dying and the eldest followers to give that power back to his cult. Feels more like recycling than a trade off.
